RUFAI OSENI REACTS AS DESMOND ELLIOTT KNEELS TO PLEAD WITH GBAJABIAMILA

Reacting to the video, Rufai Oseni criticized what he described as Nigeria’s “politics of lickers,” arguing that the incident represents a troubling side of Nigerian politics.

Rufai questioned why Desmond Elliott had to kneel while pleading with Gbajabiamila and referenced the political changes surrounding positions and appointments.

If you don’t understand how Nigerian politics works, you may be quick to criticize Desmond for what he did. But there is a bigger political calculation behind his decision.

Desmond knew that he was no longer in the good books of some of the powerful kingmakers in Surulere. At that point, continuing to fight openly or positioning himself directly against them could have come with serious political consequences.

In Nigerian politics, it is not always about who is right or wrong; sometimes it is about survival, timing and knowing when to step back. By doing what he did, Desmond may have been trying to avoid becoming a political target and prevent the situation from escalating to the point where those with influence could frustrate his political future, undermine his interests or completely shut him out.

So before condemning him, look at the bigger picture. What may appear to be weakness or betrayal from the outside could actually have been a calculated attempt to protect himself politically and live to fight another day.

Politics is a game of alliances, interests and survival. When you fall out with the people who control the machinery around you, you have to be very careful about the battles you choose to fight.

There is no crime in kneeling down to beg your benefactor,but the only challenge is when your face resembles a matured buck during the kneeling,it may be he is acting nollywood movie with Gbajabiamila.

I watched his analysis and he was very right. In fact, I heard him saying you people will talk again if I say what is on my mind. I think he was about to say gbewudani again. There is connection, there is favor, yes but there is merit too. You can be connected to a job but must qualify for it. If the person who referred you to the job takes out of your salary, it is no longer a referral, it's your second boss. I don't know where to start with you but I can understand. Someone just called me moralist because I wrote a simple comment that is true. I know where it's coming from. Principles are hard to buy.

No i'm not a thief please i will not. Those good men did the same because of the platform that brought them there. They are sharing rice and bread but that is not kindness, its investment unfortunately tax payers are the real losers in the game.

The only reason why this Desmond Iscariot issue is not annoying to me is because these events have shown clearly who Desmond is. My vote can never go for a stooge a professional "Gbewu dani", who will only do his master's bidding and not what is right by the people
