FSBoperator:These trade have their connect in China but other logistics and overhead cost shoots the final price up. The same thing they do with your tinubu government. They give tinubu loan and still supply raw materials and labour too. |

Kalulu44:Lol. Who told you Dangote no dey sell 1 bag? 🤣 You can buy 1 bag of cement at Dangote’s cuz even Dangote himself get him own shop near him company 🤣. Either you buy 1 bag or 100bags, no be profit both go bring? The customers using pos near bank aren’t collecting 1k as well.. The Chinese aren’t doing anything beyond what’s called business. They saw a country they can come in to do business and make money and they took their chances.. You get my point now? |

Christistruth03:Chinese people already know the kind of business they can’t go near in yorubaland. They already sabi this already. Hence why they focus on what they can be doing easily.. Chinese people dey buy Aso-oke from Nigeria here to go sell in another country. They’re not operating behind their means.. |

Kalulu44:Business in Nigeria is a free market..every country prays for foreign investments.. foreign investors to come and invest in their country...to step up businesses companies industries in their country...for this create jobs for their citizens and boost the economy of the country.. Chinese setting up factories in Nigeria it will create jobs for Nigerians and Nigeria youths.. direct and indirect jobs.it will reduce unemployment and create more business and job opportunities for Nigerians.. nothing wrong in Chinese setting up factories..we have factories set up by other foreigners and they create job for Nigerians..so they us nothing wrong in it |

Jakpon:Why cant you go and do it by yourselves? You as a Nigerian can't go to China and import and sell cheap since you think it is that easy? Go and do it naa.. Haba! The Germans build your roads for you. The American run your army. The French run your government. The British own your oil. Now you want the Chinese to run your retail trade! Na so you wor-wor reach? Go to China and India and run the biz like the igbos do! What are you afraid of? Thought you said it was that easy... |

PulaPower:We're saying the same thing, can you go inside Dangote factory or company and buy 1 bag of cement? You see all those outside outlets either close to Dangote company or far bearing the name of Dangote. I can categorically tell you, none is being owned by Dangote. Those are individuals who register under dangote's name. Same are with his trucks. About 50% of Dangote branded trucks are individually owned. So my context remain dangote's factory can't sell one bag of cement to you except you go outside. Who goes into the bank to withdraw 1k if not for pos. Banks are happy POS operator's are helping them in that aspect. I'm not begrudging the Chinese of their rights to sell their goods. They should have started this the very moment you came to Nigeria. Not after you solicited for distributors and wholesalers, and now you want to damage the businesses of those distributors and wholesalers. So you want the distributors to start selling same as the Chinese which is the cost price they also got it from them, make it make sense pls |

ufotunang:So where did I say it's wrong in Chinese setting up factories here in Nigeria. From my first comment about this issue. I reportedly said Chinese have over 200 different companies producing different goods inside Chinese free trade zone in Igbesa Ogun state. That's a good development and they currently employed over 10k youths as I am speaking to you. 100s of trucks and trailers leave this zones everyday to go supply their distributors. Isn't that enough for them. Why then take these goods directly to where their distributors are and start selling at company's price. That's the bone of contention here if you're not getting it. |

IyfeNamikaze:Let us explain this to you gently The tools of production sold by the Chinese eg Solar Panels computers phones industrial machines , poultry incubators would help local people save more and have more to reinvest into their preferred local Businesses like Agriculture, Agro processing, Transportation, construction etc |

owobokiri:..the Chinese did not come to Nigeria to do business and run their business in a lose by.purposely selling products at cheap price It depends on where the Chinese business men bought their products at the whole sale market..let the Igbos also go to the same whole sale market where Chinese normally buy their products from and also sell their products at cheap price .. |

BENEAMATA:You dont understand how this works. I am an importer. For a long time too. Even if you bring the whole Chinese here, I wont panic. I have my reasons. So while I stated what needs to be done, I am not necessarily worried about their presence here based on personal gains. I have lived with them. Over 20 years! On and off. I know these people. Very very well... Look at where you got it wrong; 1) You mangled the reasons why the goods sold by the Chinese are cheaper. Theirs are cheaper because the own the factories. Again, businesses there, are generously granted outlandish financial inducements by the government to prosper. The Chinese government places large emphasis on job creation more than taxes. To earn taxes, you need people to be working and engaged. They understand this. 2) This is not about "big shark and small shark". It is a lie that importers make outrageous profits from imports. This can only happen if you are a big importer. Most Importers from Nigeria, are small scale Importers, who measure their goods by CBM, and not wholesale Importers who order personal container loads. As a result, the scale of profits varies. Most traders only rake in reasonable profits after many "turnovers". You can check. Infact, I have priced goods in China whose prices are almost the same as the prices in Nigeria. Making me wonder where the Importers got them.. 3) This one is a bit surreal but very very important; There are Chinese triads! These are extremely sophisticated Chinese gangs in the mould of say and the rest in Nigeria. They are very clever, very ruthless, very effective and very active in underground trace and illicit businesses. I believe they are the ones involved in illegal mining in Zamfara that caused Nigerians to yell at the Chinese government few months ago. They are into counterfeit and all that. And if you read closely, you will understand that most goods being sold by these new Chinese shops are fakes. We need to be very careful here. The Chinese triads can impose a president on this country someday, if we allow them to entrench themselves |

Phemact1:Nothing wrong with that. The Chinese will beat prices down to levels much lower than those of Igbo traders. |

Christistruth03:You're too focused on the Tree and neglecting the entire forest. Let me explain it to you. Solar panels, computers, phones industrial machines are good, but you're killing a sector of your economy IF you allow foreign retailers who are also the producers of these commodities to come to your country and run your local retailers out of business. They're eating out of your economy from both ways! Because they produce those things that you can and flood your markets with them so your local manufacturers can't compete, they're also kicking your retailers out of business by coming to your shores to sale those communities on lower retail rates. Don't you people understand how economy works? They're killing you both in micro and Macro economically. I don't think anyone of you have taken time to think about what you're all encouraging here. There's nothing like "Preferred Local business" as far as Nigeria is concerned. |
