Even till now, Nollywood's best aren't able to blend so seamlessly into Hollywood and proper character acting..... If I had watched it by myself, I wouldn't have known it was him.

The loud and over demonstrative market woman variety of acting which is found in Nollywood can only appeal to its target local audience. It lacks the ability to cross international boundaries.

The fact is that Nigerians cant act, even the so-called A-List actors.

Dialogue is next to zero and they mostly use nice cinematography to mask obvious production flaws.

He also appeared in Ashanti, a foreign movie I watched as a young boy on nta. It was a movie about Arab marauders who came to west Africa for slave trading. He was however, a better screen actor than his wife, who was more of a stage actor, like Prof Ekwueme.

Yeah, watched this a long time ago. One of the film adaptations of Frederick Forsyth's iconic, grounded storytelling.

Didn't quite like the novel or the film adaptation (I preferred its predecessor, 'Wild Geese') but it was nonetheless a very poignant take on the darker parts of Africa and the terrible toll it took from post independence imperialism.

Jacobs was a legend no doubt.
