raumdeuter:One day at work a colleague pointed out that a lot of work success depends on the system already in place. You are put in charge of a project but before this the Ogas at the top have managed the stakeholders and ran interference so all you have to do is work. If you are not introspective you think it is all you and then you move to another company with your performer portfolio and it all falls apart. This happened to fashola at the national level where he was now working in a system where the stakeholders had not been managed and so he was unable to get much done. And some of fasholas projects like Lagos badagry expressway which originally required a guarantee from the FG would never have run in a hostile OBJ presidency.OBJ would not even allow Lasg to do repair works on the road at the time. I think the gej FG guaranteed that project AFTER the 2011 elections. Connect the dots if you will |

afrodoc:An acquaintance who worked in ICU in one of the government owned hospitals said he had to threatened storekeeper before they released oxygen to him. This is why I laughed when people say we are good people. You see it daily interacting with members of our society both high and low trying to abuse little privileges and power they possess and call it smartness. |

GloriousGbola:Bring the best intentioned western politician to an unstructured environment like Africa and watch them become ineffective Fashola didn't have to work with an antagonistic FG who was ready to deploy federal power against you As soon as OBJ left, Yaradua released all the withheld funds which gave the fashola admin a huge lift All these Free Trade Zone and Dangote refinery had their origin in Tinubu admin |

Amoto94:Na normal thing. In 5-10 yrs time your acquaintance won’t have the energy to threaten or beg anymore. He too will just tell patients that there is no oxygen. Most people dying in Nigeria are dying 10-15 yrs before their time. The issue that people will go to hospital for here and come out after some days to live for 20 more fruitful years is what people die of in Nigeria either in a car being rejected from hospital to hospital or on the ground in hospital waiting area arguing over bed or no bed. |

raumdeuter:Dangote Refinery had its origin in Tinubu's admin ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 2:19pm On Sep 19 |
izzou:I go lie for you? President Bola Tinubu’s individual footprint on the Dangote Refinery is distinct because it spans two entirely different eras of his political life. It bridges his foundational role as Governor of Lagos State (1999–2007) with his current executive interventions as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Aliko Dangote explicitly acknowledged this legacy, stating that the refinery is, “in many ways, (Tinubu’s) brainchild.” . The Lagos Gubernatorial Era: Laying the Spatial Foundation (2002–2006) Long before the refinery was conceptualised, Tinubu designed the physical and legal economic zone that would eventually host it. Conception of the Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ): In the early 2000s, Tinubu’s administration envisioned transforming the swampy peninsula of Lekki into an industrial, tax-free powerhouse. He initiated the master plan and established the Lekki Free Zone in partnership with Chinese consortiums and local stakeholders. The Regulatory Blueprint: Tinubu instituted the local tax holidays, tariff exemptions, and free-zone legislation under Lagos State law. This institutional framework is exactly what made the land uniquely attractive to heavy industries decades later. Without his early push to turn Lekki into an autonomous economic oasis, the geographic destination for the refinery would not have existed when Dangote’s initial Olokola plans fell through. So the debts listed by Anambra State government have been clarified to be IDA credits issued by the World Bank to the Federal Government. Infact, State governments cannot apply for such loans at all. FG got it, and distributed it to the 36 states in Nigeria Also, the DMO has clarified that as at the end of Obi's tenure, the debt was at $30 million, and that explains what Ibi.me said about Anambra being able to pay it off if Obiano wanted Gloriousgbola, stop hiding updates and share with us when you hear it ![]() |

Who else noticed agbero menace spreading to places that never had such before. People claimed Tinubu heralded the agberoism seen in Lagos today, which makes me wonder if this is really a coincidence?? Markets I used to purchase stuff from in Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa that never had the presence of agberos now have agberos disturbing traders for money. And all this began during this administration. I doubt this a coincidence. The agberos in the SS were mostly concentrated in motor parks and in rare occasions certain roads, agberos operating beyond these areas was not an occurrence until now. |

GloriousGbola:Well, some people are not interested in their parents business and lifestyle. There are people whose parents were big time politicians, but they hate politics and don't want to have anything to do with it. There are people whose parents were big time business people with thousands of employees, whom want nothing to do with said business. |

izzou:I was even ashamed of being Igbo when a revered man like Law Mefor came to national TV to discuss such a nonsense. I mean, a spokesman for a government came to national TV to discuss a social media banter like it's a government policy. The worse was that they were all spreading lies out of hatred, he admitting so when Rufai asked a simple question about the loans being FG, amount drawn down and how much Obi left which was even able to clear the entire loan.
