Lafarge cement was acquired by Huaxin Cement Co. Ltd, having purchased 83.81% stake of the company.

Whenever the high price of cement is discussed in Nigeria, most will accuse Dangote for being exploitative. But we have other cement companies in Nigeria, including the one owned by Chinese.

Cheap goods are sometimes associated with Chinese companies. So why isn't this Chinese cement company crashing the price of cement in Nigeria?

Cost of part the reason but cement is heavily subsidized by the government in China and importing from is way expensive and unprofitable.

The Obasanjo government gave enough time for cement importers to go into manufacturing but a particular importer prefers importing until he lose his licence.

People deliberately buy poor quality because the price was cheap. Nothing stops from telling your supplies to give you good quality. What stops you from rejecting poor quality?
