If the FGN cannot afford to pay soldiers properly, they should disband the force.
The only justification for their constant unprofessionalism and irritating behavior is low pay. I can't seem to find any other reason.

I witnessed something earlier today, a military Hilux had a flat tire, they entered a folknizer's shop for pumping, after doing the work for them, the man requested for his payment, but the soldiers refused to pay claiming they don't have money.

Why will you drive your motor to someone's workshop when you know you don't have money to pay for their services?

To cut long story short, the mechanic insisted on receiving payment for the work, and the military guys decended on him heavily. They roughed the man up just for demanding payment for his services, a commissioned army higher up had to be called to intervene.

Now, as a clear thinking individual, can you side with the soldiers on this?

In my opinion, there should be psych evaluation for NG military personnel, whatever training they're being trained is wrong.

Military personnel in Europe, and America can never engage in nonsense like this.

Nigerian soldiers are either too hungry to think straight, or the kind of training being given to them is improper and should be halted.

How's this possible. Donjazet is a staunch obidient, Oluwu on the other hand has a soft spot for APC/Tinubu.

Their style of typing is different, and the kind of discussions they engage in differ.

It's difficult to believe both monikers are run by the same individual.

Although, the fact that this allegation is coming from you makes it more complicated, because all this while I've known you on this platform, I'm not sure I've seen you make unprovable claims.

One of the unpleasant legacies of military rule is that soldiers have become accustomed to not paying for services

A soldier will enter a bus and not pay
Military is owing discos billions and they can't disconnect them

I was at ekedc for a meeting and soldiers came in to beat up the executives because they had been disconnected

If you have a military contract and you don't have a solid connect they will not pay you and na so e go be.

It has nothing to do with their pay and everything to do with an overbloated sense of entitlement.

This is very improper and irritating fr. And to them, they're always right. Even when they're clearly in the wrong, they never want to accept that they're wrong.

The fact that the civilian leadership is doing nothing about the unethical behaviors of military personnel in the country is also quite annoying.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by rabazamba: 10:41pm On Sep 22
Now this here is downright disheartening, Soldiers are taught to obey the rule of law and always pay for services rendered, let it be the civilian that gives you the item for free. Some of these boys are pompous and overzealous see ehn it is not hard to spot a soldier who has tasted battle, who don see him mate turn to suya live no go get time to dey drag 200 naira with vulcanizers

But most of us joined the army long after Military rule was ended, it is just outright stupidity from the boys. Many cab drivers reject money from me, sometimes in full uniform, Managers will say oga no worry no pay for that fuel, they want my number like hot cake...

Although sometimes e dey better make person pay, that was how one called me to bring one Hilux and beat boys that were wiring his wife cheesy

Not really true.

It's mostly in Lagos we see that.

In other states, A soldier pays his transport fare!

They make such requests because they know the Nigerian military has zero ethics. Weytin concern military with who dey wire your wife.

If the force was a professional force, nobody would make such a request to you.

For example, Ibime cannot request UK military servicemen to go and fvck someone up because they wired his wife.

But in Nigeria he can request such because the Nigerian military is a disgrace to humanity.

Everytime Nigerian military or policemen fvck up, those of you on social media always claim you're different, and those ones are bad eggs.

If you guys are truly different, why are you people not doing anything to change the unprofessional behavior of the other ones offline?

Nope

It's more like a Win-Win situation for both the soldier and the driver.

When a driver picks a soldier or any officer, he is exempted from paying Agbero levies and all that.

In turn, he doesn't collect the fare from the soldier. That's why
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 12:44am On Sep 23
I have noticed that in the military, the higher the rank, the more responsible they are.

The lower the rank, the more likely they misbehave.

Not in all cases though.

If you see a soldier beating up someone or rough handling them, him rank dey low.

True.

The commissioned officers are mostly calm and exposed, although they still behave as if Nigerian laws apply to them differently.

It is those riffraffs that joined the military as a last resort after failing in every other aspect of life, and receiving 80k monthly, that are hellbent on taking out their frustration on normal civilians, as if somebody forced them to sign up for the military.

But las las, I refuse to excuse the higher-ups. If the higher ranks were not tolerating or encouraging such irritating behavior, they would not be doing it. The higher ranks encourage it subtly.

Another angu

But i know there were some bus conductors that would be like " I nor dey Carry Staff o".

Unless that has stopped sha.

Perhaps "staff" in this context are policemen and Lastma officials who are powerless to prevent Agbero extortion

https://businessday.ng/news/article/soldiers-invade-ikeja-electric-head-office-assault-workers-over-disconnection/?amp

Military men have invaded the headquarters of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company and its Oshodi business unit over the alleged disconnection of power supply to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base in Lagos.

BusinessDay learned that the armed men in military uniform invaded the company opposite MITV in Ikeja, Lagos, at about 7:40 am on Thursday.

Higher rank means more education, potential for top positions and more ro lose

Also the oga are not usually at the roforofo places dem dey arrange big arm deals or signing security deals in their billions

Na recruit korofo with little education no get much career hope and he doesnt have access to Oga chopping, he interfaces more with poor civilians so he will use his power where his influence reach

My mum says this too. She said all the time she's travelled to Ibadan, she always admires how outspoken the drivers there are especially when they see any uniform personnel board their vehicle . The drivers would bend their inner mirror starting at the passengers at the back and would say it loud and clear in Yoruba : " All passengers should come in with their exact fare with no exception. I repeat all passengers should enter with their change o. No be government dey fuel this vehicle o "

She said almost all the time the uniform personnel will always pay without making any fuss. The ones that don't will get embarrassed and cussed at.

It's always a culture shock for her anytime she sees this happen
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Amoto94(m): 6:24am On Sep 23
In Abuja uniform men pay their transport fare they're not entitled in few encounters I have with them, I remember forgetting food items in a car I boarded belonging to a soldier when next I saw him and handed he it over to me, I halved the rice and gave it to him just to thank him
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by rabazamba: 6:41am On Sep 23
Thank you my brother, the level of a man's education and exposure will certainly come to play when these matters arise, how will a Major or Lt. Col start dragging 300 naira with Vulcanizer or dragging 500 transport fare with drivers? I am telling them with good authority that drivers are the ones who beg me not to pay. Like Izzou said, if I sit down in front of your bus with my full Camo, no Agbero, Police, Lastma or even FRSC can touch you, so out of appreciation they more often than not decline payments

This one is true my oga, and it should be condemned cheesy even me sef I have seen it happen, a particular commander staunch Muslim and misogynistic was angry at the way the Nepa lady spoke to his boys while delivering the bill, apparently others try to be diplomatic and tell them that they should please pay so the office can run, while the girl flat out told them she will cut their light, before we knew we just heard gbum! They descended on the crew and detained everybody in Guardroom, only that she was spared the beating
