This might be a bit long, pls bear with me. I got married to a virgin in 2021 with the rule of no sex before marriage but the marriage ended in 2023 due to many reasons most especially barrenness. Then to avoid my previous mistake, I made a new personal rule which I tell any lady I want to date, and the rule was; "you must get pregnant for me before I marry you". Around early April 2025, my GF said she's pregnant and after pressing her several times if she had sex with any other guy apart from me, she confessed that on February 22nd,2025 she was raped by one guy who told her to come for a job interview, then she had her period Feb 24th-28th then we had sex 1st of March,2025 which she now missed her period in March 2025, so definitely the pregnancy should belong to me since she still did period after the rape incident. I took the matter up and got the rapist arrested, he confessed to raping her and was pleading for mercy and forgiveness which I later granted due to pressure from pastors and his relatives. So I took responsibility for the pregnancy, and delivery hoping to do a DNA test after delivery but the cost was too expensive for me to afford, so I did traditional marriage with her due to the family making it compulsory. Fast forward to this month which the baby is 10months old, she fell sick and was taken to hospital, after treatment her genotype was done and found to be AS whereas myself and her mother are both AA, then I took them to three different facilities to repeat the same test and still got the same result. This means that I am not the biological father of the baby because it's not possible for two AA to produce AS, so therefore I am guessing the biological father of the baby is that rapist but what's confusing is she still had her period after that rape incident. Anyways, I am really confused and needs an outsider opinion for me to make objective decision on this matter cos I and my family have already forged a bond with the baby, her mother and her family, if I spill this discovery, everything will spoil, if I don't spill it, I will be raising another man's child as my own and my family will be in the dark not knowing anything. I really need a neutral suggestion on the next step to take either to call that rapist to ask him for genotype and if he's AS, then tell him he is the father of the baby OR I should call a meeting with my wife and her family to end the marriage and tell them what's going on OR I should just ignore everything and continue raising the baby as my own since no one knows about this issue yet. Pls drop your civilized suggestions in the comment, no insults pls. Mod can pls push forward to FP for more suggestions |

Adesegzy91:It's one of 6 things: Either the "rapist" is the father of the child and she didn't truly see her period as opposed to what she told you when she was spinning her "rapist" tale, or another "rapist" (whom she didn't tell you about) is the father or it's a dormant sickle-cell factor in either of your bloodline or the child is a result of genetic blood mutation or the hand of the supernatural is involved in this case, or you too are spinning some yarn. |

Adesegzy91:1. A woman was raped, and instead of ensuring the man is prosecuted and imprisoned, possibly for the rest of his life since the death penalty is yet to be embraced, you say you chose to forgive him? Who are you to do that? Why? 😒😒 On a different note, I do not understand why those who consider themselves feminists have not at least been calling for the institution of the death penalty against men who rape women who are at least betrothed or in a relationship? Rape and femicide are major crimes committed against women daily, and to this day there does not seem to be respectable punishments for them. Women ought to be talking seriously about the death penalty as well as absolute enforcement in at least cases involving men of adult age(younger can face life in prison). |

itzadorable333:Not spinning yarn, I have never had of this dormant sickle cell factor or genetic mutation before, pls can u shed more light on it. Thank you |

Kobojunkie:Myself and my wife's father was intent on prosecuting the guy but u can't begin to imagine the kind of begging from pastors, his families etc, they nearly wanted to turn us to devil,we had no choice than to let the case go |

KNoW THIS she seeing her period after the rape incidence doesn't rule out the possibility of she been pregnant before you had sex with her. It is not unusual for women to still menstruate while preg. some menstruate like 3mnts into preg. MY SUGGESTION since you said you can locate the rapist , it's good you do dt. That baby is 10mnts old. e neva go far. A baby accepts any body dt keeps giving her care and affection as her parents even wen such adult is nt related to dt child. just like you now knowing ur not the biological father. If dt baby grows under ur care , he /she will call you daddy bt you urself know dt ur not the real fada esp wen you haven't told him/her. MY QUESTION Are you ready to go all the way for the reminder dt dis child no be me born am? such awareness may likely cause you discomfort psychologically. you know how frnds , family and those in the know will want to make jest of you Abt raising a baby born out of rape by a stranger . If your ready to nurture the baby and damn the consequence then go ahead and raise dt child but if you no get the mental vigour, then try to look for the person wen born am and hand over the baby to him. |

Adesegzy91:You are intent on prosecuting but have not prosecuted even though it has been over a year since the rape happened? Also, how old is the girl that she is not here taking charge of what is her own case and issue to deal with as well? Why should it matter what a third party says in this... your pastor, etc.... when what was committed is literally a crime against another human being? 😒😒 FYI...next time the pastor shows up, show him this to scare him off!😒😒 25 But if out in the country a man happens to meet a young woman pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. - Deuteronomy 22 vs 23 - 24If it were back in the ancient nation of Israel, which Christians pretend they are part of, the rapist would have been stoned to death. So, any pastor protecting the rapist is an arsehole. 😒😒 |

gerizzim:Thank you for ur input, myself and my family have already forged a bond with this baby at 10months, but I can't imagine the mental torture it will toll on me with the knowledge that this child is not really my biological daughter...I guess I should take action now that it's still young and the pain a bit bearable. |

Kobojunkie:I understand u, but I don't think u understand a situation in which u r d victim of a crime but people want to demonize u for wanting justice to be served. As for my wife, I haven't showed her any of the results yet, cos I wanted to be sure, that's why I did it in three to four different facilities, so she's not even aware yet that I'm not the biological father of the baby...which is part of the advice I came here to seek if I should tell her |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Kobojunkie: 4:41pm On Sep 26 |
Adesegzy91:Rape has been a crime in southern Nigeria for at least the last 50 years. And that statute is independent of attempts by third parties to demonize or humiliate victims. So, I am not certain why that should factor in or matter here. 😒😒 Again, it has been over a year, and you all have yet to pursue prosecution of her rapist. Why? 😒😒 |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Kobojunkie: 4:43pm On Sep 26 |
Adesegzy91:That makes no sense! If she was raped, why would she believe the child was yours without definitive evidence that it is? How old is this wife of yours?😒😒 |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Adesegzy91(op): 4:46pm On Sep 26 |
Kobojunkie:Rape is a crime regardless of whether it's south or north, and I'm based in the North... anyways this thread is not about the prosecution, I am only seeking advice on what step to take, going too deep in the rape incident will derail the purpose of this thread. Which is suggestions on what to do |

Kobojunkie:She believed the child is mine because she saw her menses after the rape but missed her period after meeting me...she's 24yrs |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Kobojunkie: 4:49pm On Sep 26 |
Adesegzy91:The penal code in the North is different from the Criminal Code in the South; that is why I mentioned the South. Again, a woman was raped, an injustice against her very mind and soul. Yet you drag your feet when it comes to demanding justice be served. And the woman... 😒😒😒 |

Adesegzy91:The gene is the basic carrier of information or rather the storage unit where the contents of every information can be used as a material to create a new being which then materializes as foetal matter during gestation. Now the gene contains two sets of materials: Active/ Dorminant and Recessive/ Dormant. It is from these two that the genetic identity of the foetus is decided and formed. Now information in the gene has 400 years to be Active during which period it can be either Dominant or Recessive depending on the resultant effect of synthesis. And at the end of this period it goes Dormant for the next 100 years during which it seems as if it never exists within the gene, so despite still participating in creation process its activity is carried over onto the next Active period which is after hundred years. So in your case a sickle cell factor, which might have been introduced into either of your bloodline, which hitherto remained Dormant has finally come Active. Now if this is true, it will play out in one of two ways: either the sickle cell presence becomes Dominant in the child's gene structure or it stays Recessive depending on the origin of the sickle cell and the number of Active/Dormant cycles it has undergone before this one. Now as for genetic blood mutation , this is about the evolution of the blood and its contribution to the formation of foetus. The blood is the liquid capsule of the gene. It is the transporter and mortar that moulds the being. It is the gateway between genetic domains, bodies and territories. Therefore it acquires, houses, carries, circulates, and distributes materials. This makes it dynamic; which is the basis of blood mutation. Now whatever ingestion, intercourse, or any other sanguine interaction you or the woman may have had, prior to and/or during the period of your meeting can have engendered the mutation process of the child's blood which has influenced the its genotype identity. |

Adesegzy91:You should be more worried about the fact that you’re unable to father a child and go for proper fertility evaluation. You ended the first marriage because it didn’t produce a child and you automatically believed the problem was from your ex wife. Now, the universe has decided to be kind to you by giving you a child which you’re unable to father naturally, and you want to throw that away? Good luck. From the timeline you gave, the chances that the other man owns the child is higher because, she may have had an implantation bleed and assumed it was a period. A woman cannot get pregnant by having intercourse just one day after her period. It has to be atleast after 8 days for someone that has a short cycle. |

DBestDoc:You already know the drill. OP has infertility issues which he's very much aware. There was probably no rape incident too. The other guy was also fucking the so called wife but offcourse they need a story to justify that too. Now, his main issue is should he raise the child thats not his.... He knows what to do. I can see through the OP easily. I have that gift. |

oglalasioux:Solve what problem? 😒 |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Adesegzy91(op): 7:24am On Sep 27 |
DBestDoc:I checked and double-checked myself well and I am completely alright and able to impregnate a woman, I didn't want to go deep into the first marriage because I don't like blaming my exes but trust me I am fine and I tried my best for her but she kept having miscarriages upon miscarriages, it was later found out she should have collected rhogam injection at her first pregnancy, so we mutually parted ways for her to find an O-negative man, so I am definitely able to father my own child. |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by NotOfThisWorld(f): 7:26am On Sep 27 |
The guy who raped her should've been locked up. It doesn't matter what any yeye Pastor or his family says. He should've been put behind bars. As for the child, if he/she isn't yours, then it could be the rapist's. You need to involve him at this point so he can do a DNA paternity test. |

BusterG:Sorry bro, your gift failed u this time around, I came here with only the truth seeking civilized responsible mature opinions and I won't have u talk to my wife in that manner, so if you don't have a reasonable suggestion, please get out of my thread for more reasonable people to give good workable advice |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Adesegzy91(op): 7:31am On Sep 27 |
waywardpikin:Of course I had the same doubt and that's why I followed through on the case, I arrested the guy myself and the guy admitted in his confessional statement of how he use to lure and exploit young girls with employment opportunities and force them to have sex... I don't want to go into much details of the case, but any sex under coercion is RAPE |

You married a virgin, you couldn’t get her pregnant and concluded SHE is barren. You got with the second woman and you couldn’t get her pregnant because the child isn’t yours. Sir, maybe you could have a fertility test before you spend money on DNA tests. The writing on the wall is clear but you want to act like an illiterate. |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by Double0h7(f): 7:50am On Sep 27 |
Adesegzy91:A woman can be pregnant and still have a period. Some women have a period every month and only find out that they are pregnant when they go into labour. I don’t think you could afford a DNA test and a fertility test so pick your battle wisely and get the fertility test. That way you could hit 2 birds with one stone. |
| Re: What's The Best Way To Handle This Situation by flokii: 8:21am On Sep 27 |
@OP When you noticed your first wife couldn't get pregnant, you should have done a fertility test to know who the fault was from. You might have low sperm count or low sperm motility that'll maybe require treatment, but you assumed that the virgin wife you married was the barren one. Back to the real issue on ground, I suggest you do a DNA test to ascertain the parernity of the child you're raising. The new wife you married is not being entirely honest with you and it's very possible she has other guys she is sleeping with. Just brace up yourself incase you find out that neither you nor the "rapist" is the child's biological father. |
