Go And Verify: Tinubu Left N27 Billion In Lagos Treasury While He Was A Governor by Olofofo247ng(op): 10:06pm On Sep 27
Tinubu found only 2 billion left by Buba Marwa when he became governor.

He left 27 billion for Babatunde Fashola.

And this is separate from the 19 billion he made for Lagos state by investing in Econet.

You don't see Tinubu jumping up and down talking about leaving money for Lagos.

Op is being smart in a phoolish sense. Tinubu met N1.3b debt and left behind N367 Billion at today's exchange rate.

Lagos State's external (foreign) debt was about $243 million at the end of 2007. According to DMO data on federal and state external debt stock as of December 31, 2007, Lagos owed $243,283,449.01, all of it from multilateral lenders. (Daily Trust)

Many of you Obi supporters knew little about politics and governance before Obi became a thing. I have never seen any governor since 1999 who didn't leave anything in the treasury for his successor. Some of us followed politics between the lines, and not just based on vibes like most Obidients. Obi and the Obidients are the first set of people to make leaving money in the treasury a thing and passing it off as a virtue.

I know about tinubu's era very well...

Obj seized local govt allocation to the state for over 1 year..funds became too large ND it was tinubu's time to leave for tinubu...

Tinubu surprising backed down from his stand to have more LG and then demanded the funds be released to him..this is just 3months to leave office..OBJ refused..

Again, handover date is may 29.. obj govt usually sends allocation of a new month inside the month..tinubu again urged OBJ to send allocation earlier ND went to court claiming he needs the money to organize welcome procession party for fashola..

On both cases court didn't grant his his wish..the man is crazy for money..

Immidiately fashola came in, FG release the LG and state allocation for June to him...

The problem with many of you is that when you come here to dispute facts, in doing so you end looking more phoolish.

*How much was Lagos State Foreign debts when he took over in 1999. (that's the most commonsensical thing to think before you can think of the amount he incured in his 8yrs)
*Did Tinubu finish his term in Dec. 2007 or May 2007? (since you're quoting DMO December 2007)
*How much did Tinubu leave in foreign debts on 29th May 2007?

You don't just go and copy a publication phoolishly without putting it within the context of what the issue is.

See senseless argument, a man left office in May and the debt of the state in December is provided. Did Fashola borrow any money in 6 months?
Tinubu met $1.3b debt and choked Lagos with $367 Billion. If you substract the $ 27b from $367b he actually created a deficit of $340b debts with nothing to show. It was Fashola and Ambode that impacted Lagos positively. I lived in Lagos from 1999 to 2013, I can tell you anything you want to know about Tinubu. Those of you who just crawled from Ode-Irinle will come only to spew trash.
Go to Anambra and ask what was Perer Obi's debt and how much Obiamo met in USD.

The only thing I see here is that you keep on making f00l of yourself without posting any evidence to prove your claims because they're all lies. The only things you can tell about Tinubu is to shamelessly cook up lies and nothing more.

Look at the first attached news where it's said by the then Commissioner of Finance in 2002 that Tinubu inherited over $500m foreign debts as the governor of Lagos state on 29th May, 1999.

Now, take a look at the 2nd attached screenshot. As at December 31st, 2006 (5 months to the end of Tinubu's administration), the foreign debts had come down to $190.43m from the over $500m. What does that tell you? The foreign debts had been substantially brought down under his leadership.

We can now see who is making senseless submission here over the question you asked that did Fashola borrow any money in 6 months? You can now see how senseless and f00lish you are now.

It's a fact that when Tinubu was about to leave, his government through the Chief of Staff gave the state of affairs of the state's financial which some wanted to use as a propaganda about ₦100bn debts. The Chief of Staff came out to correct the misinformation that there was nothing like ₦100bn debts. In the published correction, he stated categorically that Tinubu's government hadn't gone abroad to take any foreign loans for the period he's been the governor of the state. No one came out at that time to dispute that fact. Not even OBJ and Koro (kosi koro, kosibo) who would have had access to this fact came out to dispute it as the strongest opposition to him and wanted to take Lagos since he was leaving. How old were you in 1999?🤔 We all know who usually spew trash with no evidence.

About the Peter Obi that you mentioned. I'm sure you wouldn't want us to delve into it because we are aware of the liabilities same Obiano said Peter left for him when he assumed office. Recently when Peter Obi boasted of not leaving any debts in Anambra, state and staking his presidential bid against it, Anambra state government has told us how much of foreign debts including multilateral debts he left for the state. He even got "mosquito loan" from abroad. 🤣. Remember, we are still expecting him to state where the ₦2.13bn Ecological Funds that he said was in an account that was later proven to be one of the state IGR account. We don't know when Ecological Fund became an IGR that'll be deposited in an IGR account. After he's been proven again to be serial liar, he's yet to fulfill his promise.
You all think this is still 2022/23 when you'll shout "Go and Verify"? We've verified and we now know that your mesuya is a liar.

Now, bring your own evidence to prove me wrong.

If you want to argue it is better for you to do so with verifiable facts.

Do you think all of us here are ignorant?!

How can you claim that one person increased the debt of Lagos State to $367 billion.

The total debt Nigeria as a country has ever owed since independence till now has not even reached $367 billion and you are here claiming that the debts of Lagos state increased to that amount in just 8 years.

You are talking complete nonsense!!!
