The Police haven't done anything to sanitise their image, Tunji Disu is a good man but one drop of water cannot cleanse an oil spillage. People will continue to celebrate their misfortunes until the end of time, maybe hundreds of years from now when we are all dead there might be a glimmer of change. Almost every Nigerian has a terrible Police story to share and it's saddening |

Don't feel any iota of pity for any Nigerian Police officer.. There's no group of individuals that deserve misfortune like them.. You survive Nigerian Police profiling, thank your God, e no mean say you too smart..Na just your good luck.. |

KingTom:Sometimes I feel Nigerian police officers are trained to treat every average Nigerian civilian as a criminal first, until such civilian proves he's not . ![]() You can see they've already concluded you are criminal at the first contact they have with you. Na you go come prove say you no be criminal; You still fit prove make dem still hol you. That's why I dey look elder wey dey cap careless about "Only Criminals fear police" ![]() |

BlueRayDick:Not as a criminal, but as a victim to be harassed, exploited and obtained |

Jamiuokolaa:Doesn't mean I should stereotype every officer. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:26am On Sep 30 |
GloriousGbola:Well, they see u as a criminal first ; that's why once they see you a young person looking good it is assumed you are a yahoo boy. They expect you to prove them wrong by showing your ID, show verifiable source of income (which they must approve of) and don't get offended no matter far they cross the line while profiling you. |

izzou:As a transporter who has Waka Waka across naija izzou has seen the good the bad and the ugly of the NPF across Lagos and across Nigeria and he interacts with them every other ay. |

GloriousGbola:I don't like Policemen, to be honest. But there are obviously good ones. There are those who are not wicked. Also, they are the only ones you will reach out to when you are in distress. You cannot call a thief to come and save you from a thief. |

izzou:Invited my little cousin to Lagos so he could grow under me after he graduated, same field.. Initially wanted him to be at my branch in Enugu but he wanted out of the East and away from his mom.. Travelling from Umuahia to Owerri to take his flight, there's a police checkpoint that's very notorious if you take that road.. There's no single day that you don't see them harassing people..He got there, they stopped him, saw ByBit app on his phone and detained him at the back of their hilux, from where he called me..Long story short, I found him three days later at Mbaise police station, the one that was burnt which they use as their illegal detention site which is officially decommissioned btw.. I don't even want to describe what my life was like for those three days or what a 22yr old passed through in their hands because there was zero arrest records of that boy anywhere in both Imo and Abia... So yeah, there's no group of individuals that deserve misfortune like them.. |

Couple of hours ago a FlyDubai airline was flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv in Israel. In the course of the flight an emergency signal was transmitted from the aircraft and the flight turned back to Saudi Arabia instead of proceeding to Tel Aviv the final destination. The Israeli military high command were on high alert and started having emergency meetings. They fear it may be a hijack/hostage taking situation considering that over 100 Israelis were aboard the flight. I'm sure they were probably considering rescue operations should it turn out to be what tbey fear. Alas! It turns out the Russian Pilot and the Ukranian co-pilot had a fight in the cockpit while aircraft was mid-air. That was what made the crew members trigger the emergency signal...... But how can the airline pair Russian Pilot and Ukranian Co-pilot to command an aircraft considering the war going on between both countries? 🤦♂️ Omo! If I'm a passenger on the aircraft, as soon as I return back to base I will sue the helll out of the airline company for putting my life in danger. 🙅♂️

afrodoc2:You always say this, and it's quite confusing. Is it that you don't want me to comment on this thread at all? Because anytime I start a discussion or comment on an existing discussion, you label it "engagement farming". What will anybody's engagement here do for me?? 🤔 |

izzou:Personally I don't believe there are genuinely good police officers in this country , the degree of evil they are capable of doing just varies from officer to officer.. The same police officer that may be good to you (either because you are a church member, a family friend or for any other reason) will join hand to punish an innocent person. And when they shake down people for money, both the ones that are nice and the mean ones will share in the largesse. |

CrystalTiger:Omo! The kind stress you will go through for that 3 days while looking for the boy ehn, you would be so scared and be praying that he's not be un-alived. I'm sure by the time you finally locate the boy and have him released, your anxiousness would've dissolved into gratitude. |

BlueRayDick:I have always told my son this policeman you see smiling and grinning at me will have a completely different stance with you if he meets you one on one. And for our daughters it can be even worse. No qualms about sexual harassing obvious children. |

GloriousGbola:Someone once told me that as a graduate If I had joined the Nigerian police and was on the rank of ASP, I would have a police patrol Van at my disposal. I would have at my dispoal a standby Patrol team which I will send out daily and get retruns from them on a weekly basis. We would have an agreement in principle for them to remit a targeted figure which they must always meet up or get replaced on my team. He said that's why I see most olopa on the road dey take their shake down business so serious and they would go to any length to extort money from you. I'm sure most people will see the fresh ASP in his well ironed uniform and think he's a good guy while the olopa at roadblocks are the scum of the earth. |

What GloriousGbola said holds weight (pun intented) the Police profile people based on appearance at least during the day, at night everybody's fair game I had an Uncle, one who lived most of his life abroad and has been used to 'calling the cops' some boys stole his laptop and were eventually aprehended by a mob and his laptop was given back to him, instead of Baba to find boys something and call it a day seeing as they had already given the thief a proper 'Abeokuta beating', he went and reported to the police who turned him into their ATM and eventually wanted to charge him for 'assaulting' the boy who stole, after every every he settled DPO with about 500k and cried back home saying 'Nigeria has gone to the dogs' .BlueRayDick: |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 10:52am On Sep 30 |
BlueRayDick:This is to let you know that they see people primarily as victims and not criminals. Their extortion business is just easier for them if the person they are interacting with is an actual criminal. What they do is to either see you as a criminal or pretend to see you as a criminal. Your criminality is just a means to an end for them, and that end is obtaining you and meeting their daily quota. |

What's this nonsense I'm seeing about some misguided youths castigating the judiciary for handing out death Penalties to Kidnappers in Edo? No be everything we suppose dey cry about o, those baskats will not have mercy on you when you are their victim o hmmmm. Talmbout 'Boko Haram were given amnesty after killing hundreds' |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:17am On Sep 30 |
afrodoc2:Now when you put it this way, It makes a whole lot of sense. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:26am On Sep 30 |
KingTom:They are being fooolish and forming nonsense emotional activism over kidnappers rightly sentenced to death. I want to believe it's because none of them or their loved ones has experienced the trauma kidnap victims suffer. I saw video of clip of those kidnappers how they kidnapped their victim and I support the death penalty 100%. We can fight for the Judiciary to also fast track trial & sentencing of Boko Haram & Bandits, but that does not mean we should be letting kidnappers loose with llight sentences for crime they intentionally committed despite knowing the law. Another thing people are mixing up is that if Boko Haram is getting amnesty, that is not the problem of the judiciary. Judges can only hear cases brought to their court by the executive arm of government (Police and DSS). If the executive arrest criminals and later decided to grant them amnesty for whatever unreasonable reason, that's not on the judiciary. I think most people commenting on social media don't even understand how governance works and the functions of different arms of government. |
