ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA PERSONNEL BEGIN RECEIVING SEPTEMBER SALARY WITH APPROVED INCREMENT

Personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria have started receiving their September salaries, with the approved salary increment now reflected in the payments.

The development represents the fulfilment of a promise by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the welfare of Nigeria’s military personnel.

The efforts of the Minister of Defence and the Service Chiefs in consistently advocating improved welfare and better conditions of service for troops are also noteworthy.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES SALARY INCREASES FOR ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL

President Bola Tinubu has approved salary increases of between 30 and 80 per cent for Nigeria’s armed forces personnel.

About 250,000 personnel are to benefit from the new deal.

Under the new arrangement, which becomes effective from September 1, officers above the rank of colonel will enjoy a 30 per cent salary increase. This applies to Brigadier-Generals, Major-Generals, Lieutenant Generals and Generals.

Personnel from colonel down to warrant officer will have a 50 per cent increase, while Private to Staff Sergeant will have an 80 per cent increase.

The pay package will increase the yearly salary bill for the country's armed forces personnel from N660 billion to N924 billion.

President Tinubu has always praised the courage and sacrifices of members of the armed forces as they confront the scourge of banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in some parts of the country.

“The men and women who help to keep us safe in our homes must be supported and appreciated in the course of their duties to our nation.

“Our administration will continue to prioritise troop welfare and modernise the armed forces by providing the weapons and technological tools needed to discharge their duties.

“Our administration believes that no nation can achieve greatness without security. We therefore remain resolute in mobilising all military and law enforcement assets to eliminate security threats and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

“I urge our servicemen to take our gesture as a sign of our deep appreciation of the services they render to our fatherland. Together we shall prevail over the enemies intent on destroying the fabric of our nation.”

Obidients are calling it bribe because its from tinubu,they now have nothing to campaign with against him in terms of welfare and insecurity.

The opposition will reduce their salary as their intentions is to do the opposite of what this government has been doing

Well deserved increments and the president should be recommended for this. Whether people like it or not, President tinubu has reduced the dastardly attacks of herdsmen and bandits across the country. The attacks aren't frequent like before and for that, weldone sir!

And I hope more successes will be recorded in the fight against insurgency and kidnappings

It's not even about increment but about what the money can actually buy, compared to what they used to buy with their small salary before Tinubu took office. A reasonable minimum wage today with the floating of the naira and high cost of petrol which had plunged our economy into the abyss of inflation never seen before, shouldn't be less than 200k.

If the much touted revenue was as valuable as you lot pretend, Tinubu will not be seeking senate approval to continue implementing the 2025 budget up till December while we are already in October of 2026. He wrecked the economy and made the naira valueless.
