Dear Son, unless you're a medical student, you don't have business going to university after your secondary education. Go and learn a skill and attend university on part time or weekend programes. Sorry will be your surname if you finish that university and don't get a good paying job after graduation. Of course, you already know there are no jobs in Nigeria. After spending millions on university education, the chances you will get a good paying job is almost zero. Money you could use to start up your business after learning the necessary skills within a year or two. Don't waste your precious time and resources in a university. Leave that university and go and learn any work now that you're still young with immediate effect. Mark Zuckerberg hired a Genz kid called Wang, a crocs wearing MIT drop out for 14.3 billion dollars to head Meta AI team. Today they've launched Muse and added over $200 billion in market capitalization after the launch. Even Mark Zuckerberg himself dropped out when he realized he was making a mistake. Do not go to university on full time basis. Do it part time! Use your time well. |

You made sense talking about learning skill after secondary and going for part time tertiary institution learning. Many of the British citizens don’t bother furthering after high school, they go to college to learn skills and modern apprenticeship |

I don't think this is the solution to whatever you want to solve, too. If you analyze it as a system, you'd see why I'm saying so... Think of what Nigeria would look like in the next 10 years when all the men do not attend the University. The race condition wouldn't end. In fact, the man or few men who dared to be different by going to the university is/are the one that would be praised. Then, someone like you would come out again to say all men should attend the university. Equally to your notion, there are more people that went to the University and are doing exceptionally well, too. Nigerian courses are really just something else and backward. Imagine studying agricultural science for 5 years plus x years of strike. Lecturers don't go for further improvement rather than the condition of writing further programs to become a Doctor or Professor. Systems, enabling environment for the exceptional ones because everyone is not the same, access to information, and daring to be different are more paramount, than dropping out or not. |

I don't mean men shouldn't get university education. I'm advocating they do it on part time basis or weekend programes or online courses. Use your youth to learn a valuable skill or business. It pays more in long run. Rather than wasting your poor parents money in a university education that might end up bringing no returns on investment. Learn a trade, a skill or something else. Don't waste your parents meagre resources on university education. University education is expensive now and yet the chances of getting a good paying job after graduation is almost zero. Allow women of which most of them are delusional to waste their time in universities and when they graduate, they start earning 60k teaching in schools. Women don't build cities. They are okay with 100k salary. But my son, you need to build skyscrapers, build industries, build estates and cities. Go go and learn a business or trade now that you're young and leave Universities for women. SamuelLoch: |

Take a look at the city of Onitsha. In some areas all you see is 5+ storey buildings everywhere. Tell me how many women built any storey building there? Almost none. It's almost men that didn't go to any university. Be wise and go and learn a trade now. Leave that university with immediately effect! |

LordIsaac:Most women are delusional. They are in the churches praying instead of building. They can't set up factories or industries. How many manufacturing companies and industries do women own in this world. It's almost men who didn't even go to universities. Women don't have that capacity to do that naturally. Check out all the car companies, aeronautical and machinery companies in the world. Tell me if a woman founded any of them. They're naturally okay with 100k salary. Go to Nnewi and see what Innoson is doing there. A man that didn't go to any university. No woman can even think of even venturing in such manufacturing outfits with all their education. I say they're okay with 100k salary. But my son, you need to build skyscrapers, estates and cities and ultimately buy a Lambo to enjoy your life. It costs a minimum of 350 million Naira to build a 4 storey building in a city of Onitsha for example. No company will pay you that amount in a life time in Nigeria unless you steal and defraud the company. |

FX:You were making sense till you got here even if I don't agree with you. The CEOs of Zenith bank, Fidelity, Lotus are delusional. Do your sisters belong to the delusional bucket too? How about your wife and daughter, mum, aunts and nieces? It's on this platform you guys reduce women to nothing. You need to step out and meet women doing great things of impact. Change your circle please. |

FX:I'm sure you don't know that an executive staff in a bank can get enough money to buy a property they like through bonus. I'm sure you missed the news of the Access Bank executive that bought a property in a choice area in London last year. A sitting governor who was a former banker had a PJ as an ED before entering politics FT. You post reeks of ignorance in the highest level of existence. Women are naturally ok with 100k salary, where did you learn this and what's the research you carried out and what was your sample size you used in arriving at this statement. Guy speak for your people and not the entire women folk abeg. |

FX:Men founded them but women run them now. You said we don't build, we don't have aspirations by being ok with teaching jobs and 100k salary which is false. No woman in my professional circle earns below 1m monthly. |

I said most women and not all women. Most women are in the church with their scam pastors praying for Nigeria since 1960 to get better. From where I come from, there are approximately more than 10,000 4+ storey buildings in the city of Onitsha. I can tell you for a fact that women never built or own any of them. And that it costs a minimum of 350 million naira to build a 4+ storey building now. Do you intend to build such buildings with a salary? Esthered: |

They are just managers. Managing Directors. There are chairmen and owners of those banks. That is why I said men should leave universities for women..Men need to build industries and manufacturing companies so we can employ the women who went to universities as part of the managers. Esthered: |

FX:Most is too much to use without data backing up your assertion. My GF didn't train his daughters in school because he believed they'll get married.... My mum ensured that her children will go to school and have good careers. And ended up having banker girlies..... |

FX:The men who built started as employees and got into the system with a degree especially the financial sector. Moniepoint owner was a former colleague who used his degree to get to where he is. Let people do what works for them. |

Quite true to a very large extent. But women don't have natural audacity to go and collect a banking license and start running it with all the risk that comes with it. It's only a man who can take such risk. Then later bring in women as part of the managers. Esthered: |

FX:Lotus Bank is owned by a woman sir. Banking license isn't about audacity but rather liquidity. |

Nigeria educational system is not helping matters. Educational system should be placed side by side with skill acquisition. Students are meant to decide parts to take. If this current system is continued, I am afraid, unemployed youths will be in the streets in alarming rates. . |

Amotolongbo:One, because it is too expensive and gets them into debt. Two, because there is dignity in labor. If you go and learn a trade that will use to eat, no one will look down on you. Three, because they respect institutions and what they stand for. They are not perfect but just saying. https://www.tiktok.com/video/7529927031614655766

You can learn several things when schooling. Dont let your lecturers lie to you that academics is everything, no it's not. There is life outside school, that life is oftentimes visible after nysc ![]() |

I love what OP stated above, But my own take in this is that if you have the financial capacity to attend to university, no problem, go and do your best and come out with your degree. This is for both male and females. But if you don't have that money. And you would love to further your studies in the university, go and learn hand work or digital skill, or learn trade, when you are financially independent, you can then further your studies. But the situation of the country no dey smile for anyone. At any discipline that you find yourself, you just have to work very hard, if not you won't make it. This is for everyone, no matter where you are. |
