PulaPower:So who did these returnees marry when they came back and settled in Lagos? |

FSBoperator:So if you don't think in Yoruba you can't be Yoruba. Is Giannis Antemtokumbo a Yoruba. Yes or no? |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 3:23pm On Oct 02 |
pongwa:You see that last statement, if them born you well, go to Rivers, Kano or Abuja and tell the locals there that same thing since they are all cosmopolitan States just like Lagos🤣 I’m sure you won’t live to tell the tales of what they will do to you. Do I blame you lot? No, I blame the Yorubas for being over-welcoming. What’s even making this thing crazier and more upsetting is the fact that it’s being echoed by the same easterners who can’t take half of what they are demanding. Those who made it clear that an Enugu person would never rule in Anambra State. The same people that denied Bianca the opportunity to represent her late husband’s district just because she’s not from Anambra. Well, this is what you get when people don’t set boundaries. This is what happens when you allow visitors to have too much freedom. This is the same issues the white westerners are facing today in the hands of the Islamists. They are now demanding their own laws on another person’s land o🤣 The truth is, if it was the Yorubas that were calling, let’s say, Kano a no man’s land, it would have been better and understandable and one would have dismissed it to be how they behave since their own house too is wide open to everybody but coming from those who don’t even tolerate their kind is more than insane. |

UrVillageChief:Are other Nigerian's "visitors" in Lagos or anywhere in Nigeria for that matter and if so why do we have a country? You should be advocating for a confederacy or supporting Nnamdi Kanu for secession then. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 3:33pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:Yes, they are visitors and in fact, a Yoruba man from Ogun (for instance) is a visitor in Lagos and as such, he will never call himself “Omo Eko” rather, he will call himself “Ara Eko”. If you were exposed and well-traveled, you would naturally know that living in a place doesn’t automatically give you the same rights as the real locals. A man from Liverpool can’t be considered native to London even if he had spent his whole life in Tottenham or Greenwich. Also, about your ignorance-filled last paragraph, I can’t do that for you. Only your elected representatives can. Tell your governors, senators and Reps to all resign and start demanding to have a referendum. They should stop collecting monies from the Nigeria they don’t want to be a part of. That’s how secession is achieved. |

| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by FSBoperator: 3:39pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:He said he doesn't think in Yoruba . He should go and contest for the governor of wherever his brains and heart is aligned to because Lagos is Yoruba land. |

Belurved1:i shake my head for you. A generation that will disqualify an indigene based on inability to converse in the local language. What happened to brotherhood |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 3:47pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:so in other words indigeneousness trumps citizenship right? The individual born in Scotland or Wales but who grows up in England cannot run for office in England eh! The individual born in Hawaii dear not run for office in Chicago eh! The individual born in Kwazulu natal to a Xhosa mother dear not run for office in his province. I here you Mr. well traveled Nigerian. You are just fooling yourself. UrVillageChief:But in this same Nigeria that you are part of you can live in other parts of it but you cannot participate in the governance or affairs of that state/province/region. You want to be a Yoruba before you are Nigerian. Tribal politics yet you believe this entity Nigeria will last the next 50 years. Please stop fooling yourself. I don't need to call for any referendum, with people like you seperation is already a fact and reality. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 3:49pm On Oct 02 |
FSBoperator:Yes because a man who has "Yoruba blood" running through his vains who schooled abroad most of his life but cannot speak the language has committed the ultimate sin and therefore cannot rule Yoruba people. I pray for people like you. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by pongwa(m): 3:49pm On Oct 02 |
Is GRV not a Lagosian? Ain't you tired of slavery from Tinubu and his cronies in Lagos? This is my opinion and I stand by it. Remove the lens of tribal and religious sentiments and you can see what you see Christlike01: |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 3:51pm On Oct 02 |
PulaPower:So is Olayemi Cardoso a Yoruba man if he speaks Yoruba fluently? |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 3:59pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:Of course, an individual born in Scotland or Wales but who grows up in England can run for office in England because an English man from Chelsea can equally run for political offices in those places you mentioned.isn’t it just common sense that it’s a “vice-versa” thing?🤣 Now I’m using your warped logic on you. I don’t even want to use people from other tribes. Eze, please can someone from Enugu run for political office in Abia or Anambra?🤣🤣 Will you tolerate it like the people from Scotland, Wales and England? It works in the UK because culturally, it’s reciprocated but is that the reality in Eastern Nigeria? Again, on your last paragraph. Stop being ignorant. You never elected me to represent you in any capacity. So why are you holding me responsible for tying you down to one-Nigeria? Those who have that power to seek referendum and secession are your elected representatives. Tell them to abdicate their offices, return to the East and start demanding the secession. I’m not the cause of your frustration, they are! |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:10pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:So shouldn't you be advocating for the same thing in your country Nigeria? UrVillageChief:1.The assumption that you are debating with an Igbo simply reveals your true tribalist nature permeating through your responses. 2. As a Nigerian who seeks to move the country forward shouldn't you be advocating for more non Igbos to run for office in the East and call their bluff? UrVillageChief:But why are you a citizen or part of a so called Federalist country that you seek to divide by advocating for regional governance soley based on indigenousness. Are you also not part of the problem or do you hate one ethnic group so much that retaliating against them is actually sabotaging the growth of your own national identity. As I said I weep for people like you. You are not Nigerian in as much as those advocating for Biafra are? Stop fooling yourself. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by FSBoperator: 4:10pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:He is not of Yoruba ancestry. He's family are returnee slaves with a very high probability that they are even Ibo . The man himself has told the world that he doesn't see himself as a Yoruba man. He should go to his ancestral Ibo land and contest there. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 4:11pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:Yes, he is Yoruba by the virtue of his being a lover of the Yoruba race and due to the open nature of the Yorubas. Remember, most of those who had governed Lagos aren’t even Lagosians (Omo Eko) So why not? Since Yemi Cardoso speaks and thinks Yoruba, I won’t be shocked one bit if my people vote him en masse. That’s the Yorubas for you! A Yoruba man from Kogi had govern one particular state in the SW before and in fact, he is arguably the best person to have ever governed the state. Due to the open nature of the Yorubas, many people don’t even know that most of the Yoruba-speaking actors in the nollywood aren’t Yorubas because they are never segregated. Many don’t even know that Remi Tinubu isn’t Yoruba (but Yoruba of course, by the virtue of marriage and because she thinks and talks in Yoruba) It is even considered highly inappropriate of me to say she isn’t Yoruba because that’s just not a Yoruba thing. A yoruba wife is 1000% Yoruba. Unlike some people, we won’t tell her she can’t represent us because it’s only her husband that’s a Yoruba man🤣 |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:14pm On Oct 02 |
FSBoperator:Alas your tribalism shines through. Are tinubu's children from Oluremi tinubu Yoruba since she is of Itshekiri heritage? Would you allow them to rule over you? |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:18pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:So by your criteria, if A calabar man named Etim Iyang who grew up in Lagos and speaks fluent Yoruba and a lover of the Yoruba race wants to to run for governor of Lagos and rule over you, would you be comfortable with that? UrVillageChief:So Gbadebo is disqualified because he is of Yoruba heritage, Yoruba blood, Lives in Lagos, advocates for Lagosians but he doesn't "think" in Yoruba when he is dreaming so therefore he is not qualified to govern you. I hear you my brother. Keep fooling yourself. We all know the reason why you dislike him. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by FSBoperator: 4:22pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:Arrant nonsense. Ibos like yourself have no right to tell Yorubas who or what they can vote for as their governor. Have you seen anyone not from your state of region caring who you elect in that your state ? If you like GVR so much , then make him your next governor of Anambra where his mother is and wife are from. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 4:25pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:No, bro. I can only advocate for such in my country if the people I’m fighting for are equally sane and tolerant of others like those people from the UK (Scotland, Wales and England in this case) morpheus24:Forgive me, I know them when I see them because they think alike and I already know the pattern🤣 morpheus24:Why would I try that when they don’t even tolerate one another?🤣 Are you whining me now? If they could do that to their own wife and daughter, Bianca, who the actual fck am I?🤣 morpheus24:Sabotaging the growth of my own identity? How? The last time I checked, you were the ones who wanted out and in fact, you ignorantly thought I was the one who had the power to set you free. No, that’s the responsibility of your elected leaders and representatives. Call them out and ask them to resign immediately🤣 |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:29pm On Oct 02 |
FSBoperator:Alas the tribalism shines through. The audacity to believe that I am Igbo simply highlights where the true sinister impetus of your responses come. FSBoperator:As a Nigerian I would like to see indigenousness dropped entirely from governance but then again "Nigeria" is not really a country and you and I are simply fooling ourselves into believing so and I wonder why we even call ourselves such. FSBoperator:Its not really about liking GVR or not. What I find disgusting about a so called open minded "tribe" of people is that they say one thing about their nature but in reality they are no different from the same ones they accuse of people tribal and bigoted. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 4:36pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:Yes o. That’s who we are. Anyone who wants the best for us is seen as a family and in fact, we rate an outsider who has the burning desire to join the family and who has our best interests at heart more than bastards whose only mission is to destroy the progressive family. Yemi Cardoso is a real Yoruba man not only by the virtue of his being a real Yoruba lagosian but also by the fact that he thinks and talks in Yoruba. Gbarebo doesn’t. Gbarebo should go and contest in Anambra. Let’s hope you won’t Biancalize him🤣 |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:36pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:So you have no country then and if so what is your true nationality? UrVillageChief:Not worth a response. UrVillageChief:So you are only brave when it comes to your ethnicity. I hear you? UrVillageChief:1.Every body wanted out of Nigeria my dear "Nigerian" brother. The Igbos were simply the only ones with the guts to actually take the step to do so. 2. I put it to you that you are not a Nigerian and never opted into that agreement with anyone but were copted into by others that made that decision for you. 3.The fact that an individual born and bred in a Yoruba state who's bloodline, heritage and lineage are attached to the land is castigated by his own kind simply because he carries some ancestry from a region you loathe speaks volumes of your Nigerianess. Please from this moment on stop calling yourself a Nigerian. You are definitely not one. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:40pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:So the real reason is his Igbo heritage? I see. You can't get anymore tribalist than that. I rest my case. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by UrVillageChief: 4:42pm On Oct 02 |
morpheus24:You are being ignored now my friend. Maybe you should go and ask your elders at home. A Yoruba man was the first visionary who tried to add this very secession clause into our constitution but guess who jeopardized that move?🤣 Una go cry tire. We die hia. Your forefathers fought to have this one-Nigeria and one of them even made the call for secession a treasonable offense punishable by death but today, as fate is having it, his children are the ones calling for the same secession. Yes, I place my being Yorubaness ahead of being Nigerian. Any problem with that? |

| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by Salowise: 4:44pm On Oct 02 |
FSBoperator:I'm Ogoni not Igbo, I've been around Igbo and Yoruba and I'll tell you Igbo are more accommodating while Yoruba care about Yoruba though very peaceful. My place if you by mistake count 10 houses owned by Yoruba, trust me you must have counted over 30 houses owned by Igbos, but you'll easily see Yorubas being in strategic positions in different companies over here same thing with northerners. One thing i hate about Igbo is their mentality, you can easily lie to them and they'll believe it and stand by it. Eg, Buhari was dead the person ruling Nigeria was Jubril al Sudan, you can imagine but aside that they're nice people and real hustlers. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:47pm On Oct 02 |
UrVillageChief:Exactly my point. The agenda by the west was never to be a unified entity so why are you turning around claiming Nigerian now when in reality your elders wanted no such thing and why are you arguing with people who want to make it a reality when in practice it is already that. I don't understand? UrVillageChief:If you place your Yoruba-ness above the nation then why are you existing within an entity that you have no regard for. Just asking? |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by Christlike01: 4:53pm On Oct 02 |
pongwa:You guys won't stop playing with fire until it begins to burn your hands. It’s now your business to determine who is a Lagosian and who is not, right? What if I tell you that GRV is from Lagos, but we won’t put him in Alausa as our governor? He won’t govern Lagos. What do you have to say to that, man? Will you impose him on us, or what? See, you have the right to hold whatever opinions you have in your heart, but one thing is certain: you guys won’t dictate to us who should run or govern our state. You can shove your sermon about tribal and religious sentiments down your throat because it won’t change anything—I’m a proud 'Ronu'. I guess you know what that means. And speaking of Tinubu, is it your 'slavery'? You should be preoccupied with the happenings in your own state; leave us alone here! What if we are happy being 'Tinubu and his cronies' slaves? How is that your business? What you guys don’t even realize is that we actually blame Tinubu for giving you people so many opportunities that you didn't actually deserve here in Lagos. Let me leave you with a tip: you should watch your unguarded utterances here because the effects of that can be dangerous. Enough said already. |
| Re: Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Attempt To Speak Yoruba Backfires At The Platform by morpheus24: 4:57pm On Oct 02 |
Christlike01:Can you articulate the reasons why GRV is disqualifed from governing you apart from the fact that he "doesn't think in Yoruba"? Christlike01:i think most people are just puzzled about the reasons why an indigene, born and raised with Yoruba heritage is disqualified from becoming a governor ? |
