No I have never been on a "plane".
I only flew for the first time in late 80s from Lagos to JFK , probably before you were born.
I fly to Nigeria almost every other month and I also travel for business around the US on almost weekly basis but I have never been on a plane before.
How will know how the weight of his office.

It's not a chopper.
It's a turboprop aircraft originally designed to carry 42 people hence the 42 in It's name.
The aircraft is very prone to crashes and the crashes are usually fatal.
Despite it's history of accidents, they still buy it because it's relatively cheap.
I won't be surprised that only one, maybe two people in that aircraft were the real targets.

One of the strategies of being one step ahead of coup d'etat in third world countries is to pack potential and suspected coupists in a military plane and crash them in the middle of nowhere. A lot of paranoid head of states have used it to devastating effect.

ATR-42 is not an helicopter. It's a passenger plane that can carry up to 50 people.

I hope the pilot did a great crash landing and they are safe. Fingers crossed.

Those of you dunking on the NAF; this is not the dunk you think it is. Airplanes are machines and they are not beyond failure, no matter how well they are maintained. The US crashes military planes and jets almost every week. When last did the NAF lose a plane or jet?

This ATR-42 plane crashing doesn't mean the NAF or the aviation minister are incompetent.

If you can't pray for the successful recuse of the passengers, just move along.

I wonder when Nigerians will learn to respect our service men and women.

I wonder too. Soldiers who are sworn to keeping us safe deserve maximum respect. Plus we need to speak positively about our country more. Each nation has it's woes and goodness.
