Wow. If people say this life is not a mystery then please someone explain this. May the Good Lord give her strength to heal and soldier through. Happiness is still her portion IJMN. Oh, and the Nigerian Airforce owes her a lot, please let them start trying to settle their debt. |

What's so special about the death of her husband that singled her out for sympathy.? There are other people's breadwinners and fathers and husbands on that same flight... My heart goes out to all gallant members of the armed forces giving their lives daily for the country.... May their souls all rest in peace.... |

otomatic:Why are you writing this on October 6? The coincidence could just be strange but it should not affect anyone who likes her and wants to marry her though some people believe in family curses and those types of things. I don't ignore those things but her own could just be an unfortunate coincidence.

jubrilELsudan:I remember Lanre Olusoola telling the story in his family and why he changed his name or something like that. Modified: Dr. Lanre Olusola, popularly known as The Catalyst, changed his family surname from Kupoluyi to Olusoola. He took this step as part of his personal transformation journey, choosing a surname that means God makes wealth or God creates honor in Yoruba. Dr. Lanre Olusola shared that his father, Christopher Kupoluyi, died tragically in the very first Nigerian Airways plane crash when Lanre was just two years old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxUzHMB7Jno Because of this loss, he grew up with a deep-seated fear and a psychological burden tied to the family name and history. When he experienced his personal and spiritual reawakening, he chose to completely detach himself from that past. Changing his surname from Kupoluyi to Olusola was a symbolic act to break what he felt was a cycle of premature death and limitation, allowing him to preserve his life, protect his future legacy, and fulfill his divine calling. For those who don't know Kupoluyi (or Kúpolúyi) is a Yoruba surname from Nigeria that translates to "death has killed the honoured one" or serves as a prayer meaning "may death not kill the person of honour/prosperity". Let's leave this man. What about Fela? The Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti changed his name from Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in the late 1970s as a radical rejection of colonialism and a reclamation of his African identity. I always thought about the Ransome name, so it made sense to me ![]() His name change was driven by two major motivations: 1. Rejecting a Slave Name The middle name "Ransome" was an English, Christian name adopted generations earlier by his grandfather, an Anglican minister. As Fela's political views radicalized-heavily influenced by the Black Power and Black Panther movements in the United States-he grew to resent the name. He publicly dropped Ransome because he considered it a colonial appendage and a slave name that did not belong to a true African. 2. Claiming Agency Over His Destiny He replaced Ransome with the Yoruba name Anikulapo. This word translates directly to "he who carries death in his pouch" or pouch. Fela chose this name to make a specific, powerful statement: "I will be the master of my own destiny and will decide when it is time for death to take me." It was his declaration that no human being, nor the oppressive Nigerian military regime he constantly fought against, had the power to kill him. He viewed himself as spiritually untouchable. He was the Chief Priest of the African shrine. While his prominent siblings (like former Minister of Health Dr. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti and activist Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti) kept the hyphenated family name until they passed away, Fela completely detached himself from it to fully align his identity with his music and Pan-African activism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS_Yd_iMYWo Put on the close caption to translate the video for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aKU5rdok8k

Marrying a nigerian airforce personnel is equal to accepting early widowhood, i don't know why ladies still marry them. They give them wrecked helicopters, every few months there must be a crash and they all die. My friends father is a helicopter crash survivor, same nigerian airforce. May she be comforted. |
