Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Monday night; the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu, confirmed the development to Channels Television.

Okorocha, who was arrested at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja, was, however, released on bail by the NPF following an hour of interrogation over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

CSP Iniedu, who confirmed the arrest and subsequent release on bail to our correspondent, noted that the former governor was asked to return to the Force Headquarters on Tuesday for further interrogation as investigations into the allegations continue.

The arrest reportedly followed Okorocha’s failure to honour previous police invitations in connection with the ongoing investigation.

He was initially invited to the Force Headquarters on September 2, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers, a date he reportedly failed to honour.

the same fate awaits uzodinma and umahi after Tinubu's tenure. APC is solely for the North SW , and SS. And I wish our SE brothers realized what Kenneth Okonkwo's realize . That's how OUK was also thrown under the bus for Akpabio as SP despite the fact that OUK labored more than Akpabio and even worked tirelessly for the then ACN to unsit GEJ from the South grin

I still remember what this man did to the women who were protesting for the release of their children arrested by the police during the Biafra agitation period at Owerri when he was the governor of Imo state.

He arrested the women and locked them all in prison because of protest O, just to please the people in Abuja.

Today, the same people in Abuja he wanted to please are dealing with him.

Two greedy men’s political career is at risk here. If Hope loses he is definitely not getting any ministerial position…because he will still be a governor when presidential election will hold. If Rochas loses the seat, he will lose with it his political career…because he isn’t popular in current APC affairs. The most bothering part of this situation is that Hope has highly underperformed and shouldn’t have any possibility of becoming a godfather in imo state. Hope is caught between a rock and a hard surface, competing against Rochas for senatorial seat. Rochas is among the founding fathers of APC, even when they visited Obama he was at the forefront. If Hope loses out he will definitely want to be a godfather in imostate, imo experiencing another 8 years of Uzodimma will be very detrimental to the progress of the state. As a leader Rochas is more visionary and was much impactful to the state, his only sin was trying to install his son in law as governor.
