Federalofficia:It will be monthly until the US-Iran war is over and crude price returns to normal. Nigerians would have been saved from the shocks. |

Dotherightthing:Nigeria has 240 million people to feed. 1.5 million barrels/days can barely feed the 22 million people in Lagos |

sulaak:Oils is at 120 usd per barrel...multiply 1.5million by 120usd..then change it into naira. And reasses ur statement. Then add gas which we evn export more of..then add solid minerals..then add taxes..then add the plenty loans...xhange them to naira. More than 60% earn less than mininum wage. Factor that number into it . Deduct that from the proceeds |

Hungrychicken:Not just the government, our own people you can't trust. For example, a lot of pensioners monies have been released, the ones meant to disburse them wickedly sit on them. |

sulaak:That population includes children and minors who don't qualify for the cash transfer 68 6 million. Nigerians have BVN. Let's work with that. When the budget was drawn, USD65 was set at the crude price benchmark Today crude oil is over USD100 Let's use the excess to cushion the citizens from the world crisis. |

Dotherightthing:Let's work on the $54 billion debt that has a $10 -15 billion interest repayment fee; let's work on the $25 billion spent on food imports; let's work on $6 billion on security expenditure to fund the army and police force combating some of the most brutal terrorists in the world. You want the country to fund cash transfers to unproductive people who spend their lives being unproductive and producing children thatthey can't support., who can barely transform their environment into a modern society, or a functional society beyond religious ignorance. |

sulaak:You've just spoken about normal challenges that are almost always there. But I am talking about providing a TEMPORARY SHOCK ABSORBER to the citizenry from the US-Iran war. The FG is currently earning a huge windfall from crude oil We deserve a dividend from that while it lasts. |
| Re: Subsidy Alternative: FG Should Do Unconditional Cash Transfer To All Nigerians! by sulaak(m): 2:58pm On Oct 12 |
Dotherightthing:The FG is not earning any windfall. The country has a 40% JV with its external partners, as well as a forward-sale obligation from its previous government. The country also significant debt repayment. We need to stop this oil dependency culture and investigate how billions of dollars of lithium, gold and other minerals are being smuggled out of the country. |
| Re: Subsidy Alternative: FG Should Do Unconditional Cash Transfer To All Nigerians! by Dotherightthing(op): 8:40pm On Oct 12 |
sulaak:All what you mentioned were already on ground when the FG drew the budget on an estimated crude price of USD65 Today, crude is over USD100. There is a windfall. We the citizens deserve a part of it to cushion the effect of the crisis. |

Dotherightthing:Nigeria has $18 billion of Eurobond debt that has now matured after 5 years , the rate of government bonds has also gone up meaning that the government has to spend more or debt management. BTW, the government is wasteful; the failure to fix the refineries, cut government costs (50 ministries), and the use of expensive cars and private jets are all due to the government's irresponsible fiscal policies. |

sulaak:Even the US is heavily indebted. Many countries are. It doesn't stop the from doing cash transfer to their citizens from time to time. Can you see that IMF is recommending my policy? |
