I remember the day someone told me to help him buy Original Hennessy at Trade Fair I specifically told him to either ask his relative abroad to send it, as I don't know what a real or fake one looks like. It's not too late to involve Death penalty on this rubbish |

izzou:No at all. VDM team took those pictures themselves so if there is, he would have added it. Maybe he hasn’t gotten to that stage yet. |

izzou:Alcohol was very easy to quit once it became common knowledge that all these drinks are fake. Only thing I touch now is Orijin and that's a rarity. I no wan age like avocado and battle the problems that come with regular alcohol drinking at middle age talk less of regular fake alcohol drinking |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ihebu4chelsea(m): 10:57pm On Oct 13 |
A40:There's no fake origin? Omoh the level of fake drinks in circulation is at all time high, Most serious companies import from outside the country, like izzuo said, e go too hard before you see original Hennessy, campari and the rest, they are all fake. |

Wotowotoman:Do you think BlackRock picked the valuation of his company out of thin air? The valuation has been there before BlackRock. It was a Private company and they have no obligation to declare it's value. It's when BlackRock buys it that its value becomes public as BlackRock is public. That's when Forbes can pick it up and calculate his worth from publicly available market information. |

Ibime:Ogbeni, stop yearning okpata. Whatever shares he owned in GIP before the acquisition were illiquid. If Blackrock didn’t buy, how could he have monetized? And you claim he has been a billionaire for donkey years? Wetin be this? ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 7:02am On Oct 14 |
Wotowotoman:Is Rihanna or Jay Z valuation liquid? It's based on a valuation of their private companies . Liquidity.is not the same as net worth. If Kanye West was liquid, he wouldn't have lost billionaire status. Yet he was a billionaire without liquidity based on financial records he submitted to Forbes which allowed them to calculate a valuation on his illiquid company. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Wotowotoman: 12:29pm On Oct 14 |
Ibime:As far as I’m concerned, wealth that is tied to very illiquid assets that the value can only be determined by what a buyer thinks it’s worth (or by Forbes) is not true wealth. In my opinion, Kanye, Jay Z, Rihanna, etc. are/were not true billionaires. Even they know it. Now if the wealth is tied to stocks or assets that are publicly traded or assets that the value can be appraised independently (properties, yacht, gold, etc.), then I will consider those. Speaking of Bayo, even if you went that route of Forbes and their vague calculations, how come he was never acknowledged as a billionaire until his ‘friend’ Larry Fink came and ‘bought’ their shares in GIP? That’s because even the Forbes people know that shares in the GP of a PE firm cannot be easily valued. The value of those shares are tied to the performance and value of the assets held by the fund. And the assets are not owned by the GPs but the fund that is majority owned by the LPs. Any loss on those assets wipes out the GPs holdings as the LPs are first in line in a liquidation. I maintain that Bayo was not a billionaire for donkey years as you claimed he was. He was wealthy. Very wealthy. But not billionaire status wealthy. |

One of the most insensitive spaces in this country has to be Akpabio's senate "If you try to commit suicide, make sure you die" |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by rabazamba: 1:17pm On Oct 14 |
That is the Nigerian Law for you, Suicide is a criminal offence and Sen. Ekpenyong is trying to call for an amendment, as insensitive as Akpabio's words were, they are the truth as far as Nigeria now is concerned, if you attempt to commit suicide make sure you die because if you don't die you will be arrested. Remember the man who attempted it months ago that was rescued from the lagoon? Eventually the fellow was arrested izzou: |

izzou:If you attempt suicide and you dont succeed, it becomes a crime |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:26pm On Oct 14 |
rabazamba: raumdeuter:I am not saying it's not a law. It's the insensitivity of laughing about it. What exactly is funny? Shouldn't he have emphasized on them seeking help, or any channel of mental support, than laughing that you should better die? Imagine seeing someone trying to commit suicide, and you tell him "You better die oh, or I arrest you". ![]() |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 1:27pm On Oct 14 |
Wotowotoman:More likely that Bayo is not interested in celebrity to submit data to Forbes GIP valuation can be calculated within a decent margin of error and it won't be as powderpuff as Jay Z or Rihanna valuation which is based on vague brand valuations mixed with a bit of EBITDA multiples GIP valuation would be on physical assets and tangible cash flows and not far from what BlackRock paid in consideration (usually within ~ 20% mark up on fair value). It would have been based on: (a.) Actual physical assets owned by the company such as shares in Ports and Airports (b.) Multiples of EBITDA derived from Management fees for fund management of which GIP was collecting $750m in fees per year, plus their small share of ownership in portfolio companies (outside of the funds ownership). Companies in their portfolio generated $75 bln annual revenue. I don't know what percentage of their portfolio constitutes fund ownership and what percentage constitutes direct ownership but direct ownership is part of the mix. |

rabazamba:Most countries have long decriminalized suicide and attempted suicide . Even Ghana our West African neighbors decriminalized suicide like 3 years ago or thereabouts. It makes sense that Nigeria joins the progressive countries that have decriminalized suicide. raumdeuter: |
