Residents Scoop Groundnut Oil After 33,000-litre Tanker Overturns In Lagos(Fotos by Rebuker(op): 9:45am On Oct 15
Some Lagos residents were seen rushing to the scene after a 33,000-litre tanker carrying groundnut oil overturned in Ojota, towards the Ikorodu Bridge, with many arriving with buckets, jerrycans, bowls, and other containers to scoop the oil spilling onto the ground.

In the video, several people can be seen standing with their feet submerged in the flowing oil as they struggle to collect as much as possible. The footage has sparked mixed reactions, with many expressing concerns about the hygiene and safety of consuming oil collected under such conditions.

While some view the incident as a reflection of poverty and the harsh economic situation, others have raised concerns about the possible health risks associated with using the recovered oil.

However, beyond the sight of residents scooping the spilled oil, another concern stands out: the possibility that some of the collected oil could find its way into local markets and be sold to unsuspecting consumers.

Well, I fear that delicious meal you eat at Mama Put might have been cooked with this oil. Who knows?

See how hunger had made people lose their sense of decorum

Symptoms of poverty weaponized

Because come to think of it, if I am sure of my 3 square meals, I have accomodations and I have a state can cares for my welfare, why would they behave like animals

But Tinubu's lackeys say Southwesterners are all well-off and are enjoying Tinubu's government.

APC is not running a government. They are running a concentration camp.

I actually thought that the hunger created by Tinubu existed only for non Yoruba people outside Lagos. shocked

I don’t understand why someone would fight for and grab power when he is clueless about making things better for all.

anonimi:
May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

So they should scoop contaminated groundnut oil at the expense of the health of others so that it doesn't waste?

In saner climes, those scoping will be arrested for endangering the health of others.

But na poverty, cause this one.
