Umahi’s Diversion Admission Vindicates My Stand on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road — Duke

There is no Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. What we have is a Lagos Coastal Highway that will never get to Calabar. Minister Umahi’s comment on the terrain has vindicated me. Roads can be built in places like Bayelsa, but the terrain makes it prohibitively expensive. This project, from Victoria Island to Epe, is simply a land grab.

The primary purpose of the fraudulent high way..

1… Deceive the entire South South With Such project ahead of 2027 elections

2.. Start from South west, Make sure that all roads linking to South West are completed first..

3, Give them reasons while the project is no more possible

4, Play a damage control if they start complaining, by telling them the project is still on going despite giving reasons initially while it has become an impossible task..

You forgot to include how the said 15 trillion would never be mentioned again and the project finally termed as “abandoned project”.

All these desperate low.class politicians looking for any means to on the news with cheap shots.

Any project cn be adjusted, upgraded, amended as they see fit.
You cannot be rigid in your approach. This is project management 101.
The road is still going the initial length, it can be moved inward in some locations to save money, save properties, or where it will be more useful then what's wrong with that?
You have to be open to changes as long as it makes the project more useful and serves the public.
Tinubu is constructing projects that will.last for generations to come.
He's writing his name in the history books.

Only a grossly foolish person, or perhaps a stark ignoramus, would have believed that Nigeria, as it currently stands, has the capacity to deliver the coastal road project.

We are talking about a 700km road, potentially with up to 30% of its entire length running through swamps and across rivers. Such a project could easily require over 200-300 bridges, alongside enormous investments in drainage, soil stabilisation and other complex engineering works.

Even if the British colonial masters returned today and took over the administration of Nigeria, I doubt they could pull off such an ambitious project within 20 years, given the country's current institutional and infrastructural realities.

Yet, when sensible people raised legitimate concerns and pointed out that the project was a white elephant misplaced priority, we were insulted, ridiculed and branded all sorts of names, including “enemies of Nigeria”, by political/ethnic sycophants.

this is exactly the outcome of having a poorly educated electorate. Nigeria's fall in quality education is intentional by politicians, and the systematic destruction started at KG levels up to propagate "private schools".
people are easily hoodwinked by lofty project titles like "super highway". absolutely malarkey.

Tinubu looted $11B, Omorr angry

The East-West road first phase required no fewer than 31 bridges in lengths ranging from 31 to 850 meters.
This was constructed at the cost of $1.7B.

Lagos - Ogun highway / Ondo - Edo bypass / anyhow anyhow bending to Calabar via Oron.

Should a coastal highway not run along the coast throughout? APC defenders kept on reminding us of how coastal highways run in all parts of the world. Now we are waiting for the defenders to tell us if Lagos - Calabar is a coastal road and prove it to us.

We also would like Omokri and Bwala to go and do images of the coastal highway, showing us how it is progressing on the coast from Lagos to Calabar.

Are we too slow in this country or just easily deceived. I knew this all along.

If you have ever been to Bayelsa you will understand that the terrain of the creeks will make that project not feasible. You will need so many bridges that the cost will be too much, on top of that, once you have bridges there you literally block the creeks up to Lokoja.

The road was a good project for Lagos and a way to make money but trying to deceive the entire South-South and gaslight anyone who said the truth did not make sense.

Sometimes come out with your full chest and do what you want. We are not all children.

The Eko Atlantic and the coastline was the target all the while..

They even commissioned it after completing.. you think say na play play..

If they truly wanted to build a coastal road.. they would have started from the bush and end in the city..

These one first destroyed billions of Naira worth of properties to build a coastal road to nowhere..

The Calabar was added to make it look like a Pan National Infrastructure

Someone that doesn’t know Lagos would think what you said means the road takes you straight to the airport and you’ll arrive there with zero traffic.

Stop showing your ignorance like Lagos 2pm sunshine. Any project can be amended as needed. What matters is that it's not abandoned and it still goes the full length, constructed on time and within budget.
Is the road already paid for before thr changes? No, it's not.
The Nigerian government is paying as the project progress, it's not like they have already paid in advance. Stop reasoning like a kid.

Don't comment on issues of which you are not familiar with. Anyone living or coming from Epe and thr environment already understand what I posted.
To catch my Delta flights at 11 45am, I used to have to leave 5 hours or more before the flight because of traffic along Epe express way, Sagamu to IKEJA was a no go area, it has been bad for decades. Ikorodu road is still the same since I was in Secondary school.
Now, we can take the coastal road and bypass the Epe express way, Sagamu road is also fixed, now they are working on Epe to Ikorodu. All within 3 years of this govt.
Places that used to be no go area, are jow opening up for residential and businesses.
That Sagamu road was so bad that your tires will be busted or drive into a ditch while trying to avoid the potholes. It had been like that foe decades. Just imagine, for decades.
But some clowns will come here and tell me to vote for a man that only invested their money into a brewery. Thunder go soon visit so many cult followers.
