According to StatiSense, only 2.4% of Nigerians earn N200k & above monthly. That 2.4% comprises of men and women o, married & single.

It's safe to say an average single lady from a struggling background hoping to get married to a legit guy will marry from that pool except she's extremely lucky or she decides to go the other way by marrying Yahoo boy, drug mule, NURTW,etc

How they don't see this reality dey always Muse me.
I got this same stat from a guy who is a CEO of a Nigerian company. Every girl is going for those 1%. Last last na aspiration, the reality is that majority will end up marrying for the bulk of men available

Core Income Statistics & Tiers of Nigeria
* Average Income: The typical monthly income sits between ₦80,000 and ₦120,000, though this is heavily skewed by high earners in banking and oil.
* Low Income (40–50% of population): Earns below ₦100,000 per month.
* Lower-Middle Income (20–25% of population): Earns between ₦100,000 and ₦250,000 per month.
* Middle Income (15–20% of population): Earns between ₦250,000 and ₦1,000,000 per month.
* Upper-Middle & Top Earners (5–8%): Earns ₦1,000,000 to ₦3,000,000+ per month, with the top 1% earning upwards of ₦2.5 million to ₦3 million monthly.
* The Wage Gap: Only about 2.4% of the population earns more than ₦200,000 monthly, showing how few jobs pay above a basic survival threshold.

I guess everyone is allowed to dream, but the reality is only few dreams come true.

There are quite a handful of ladies I know personally who are in their early to mid 30s actively looking to settle down. The problem is most of the men that have been coming their way have one or more "comma" that makes them unsuitable for marriage. The guy may have a decent job with a roof over his head, but turn out to be AS genotype while the lady is also AS. There are those who are unsuitable for marriage due to religious differences, tribal differences, etc.

Imagine having all of those factors stacked against you, only to see a decent guy who tries to plan ur future with u and u call him stingy because he's not spendthrift .

I like as she jabo the guy, The guy does not deserve a deadbeat GF like that

Young men of today if you are doing well, Options plenty. You also need to be selective. Nowadays nack even plenty for street so no rush. If you see the numbers of single women into their late 30s nowadays, All those dating services even by Social Media clowns like Lege and co, Na women full there

If you finished secondary school lets say 20yrs ago, so your age group is between 34 to 37, Go and see the number of girls in your set who are still single never married

Don't let anyone use unnecessary pressure to kill you, Buy me this buy me that. Give me this and give me that. If you marry that kain person, you don get wetin you go dey serve and worship for life be that cos the demands and appetite do not get better
Very solid advice Egbon🫡

I'm also happy for that guy cause Na wetin him for dey nurse for the rest of him life be that and even end up frustrating the guy after ruining the business

I think social media also contributed to these girls delusion, came across some that say some things and I ask if they include Nigerian factor in these their delusion, their replies are not so far from these Ladies in pastor Bolaji church

Anytime they want to start their delusional talks, they'll start with a "Real Man should" grin grin

Must be something in the air in Lagos and Abuja that makes those ladies delusional.

I generally think ladies in other cities are more realistic in their marital expectations.

Around here, man wey be lecturer, health worker or get federal job na hotcake. Many colleagues married fellow staff. Those who married "outsiders", collect cooperative loans to establish their wives in business, and when the opportunity presented itself, got their spouses into the system. Na the general format be that. Husband & wife levels plenty for my institution.

When I see all those "can you marry a man that earns 500k videos" and the lady says NO, I just shake my head and laugh cos most of dem na Shiloh, NSPPD, Hallelujah challenge etc dem go end up last last.

I will say even among the girl doing runs only a very small minority of them on collect 1m at once before, No be bank release stat say over 95% of bank accounts do not have 500K in it. When anyone see camera they start talking out of their assss

Now they're shifting to Islam while dumping blacks and jews

Their goal is to have enough voters on their side ,it going to get a lot worse for you America and European countries.

More likely that Bayo is not interested in celebrity to submit data to Forbes

GIP valuation can be calculated within a decent margin of error and it won't be as powderpuff as Jay Z or Rihanna valuation which is based on vague brand valuations mixed with a bit of EBITDA multiples

GIP valuation would be on physical assets and tangible cash flows and not far from what BlackRock paid in consideration (usually within ~ 20% mark up on fair value).

It would have been based on:

(a.) Actual physical assets owned by the company such as shares in Ports and Airports

(b.) Multiples of EBITDA derived from Management fees for fund management of which GIP was collecting $750m in fees per year, plus their small share of ownership in portfolio companies (outside of the funds ownership). Companies in their portfolio generated $75 bln annual revenue. I don't know what percentage of their portfolio constitutes fund ownership and what percentage constitutes direct ownership but direct ownership is part of the mix.
That guy is a troll and does that rubbish for fun.I remember reading one of his silly nonsense on NBA and some other threads. I wouldnt have indulged him if I were you.

Any normal (finance) person knows that Private Equity by virtue of its nature/asset class is in itself illiquid. So his insipid point didnt even have any basis in the first place. PE firms deal with commitments and know how to generate significant cash events if and when they need it. Look at him comparing it to dem Jay z and co. Probably googled some AI shit to come argue here

So I was at a bar this evening for normal evening cruise and an issue happened. Something we discussed here recently.

I was just waiting to get home first before I post it here, since there are others around me and will probably see what I'm typing.

All of us at the bar, all of them are married, except me. I'm at that stage where everyone around me is married, so I always seem like an outlier.

Now what caused issue is this, one of the men's wife got fvcked outside. grin

The matter was really serious. Some men were pressuring him to go and destroy the business place of the individual that "fvcked" his wife.

So much anger in the air. People wey no get wife come dey para pass who get wife wey them lash sef.cheesy

Now, what brought about my confusion is that every single one of these men cheat. Serious big time cheaters that have probably lost count of the number of women they've bedded this year alone.

How does it make sense that other women fvck you outside but you don't want your wife to be fvcked by another man.

It just seems like Nigerian women exist to be play toys for men, and it's unfortunate the women just accept it like that. It's really weird.

I don't know if I'm the weird one. I don't cheat when I'm in a serious relationship because it pains me when I get cheated on. So I just feel like, why do you something that I won't like if you do it to me? I try to consider the feelings of my partner before making decisions, but it seems the wider percentage of men don't? You're a human with feelings, don't you think the other person has feelings that should be taken into consideration too?

This is in my hometown. Confraternities are mostly peaceful these days as they have been integrated into the economy since Amnesty through pipeline contracts etc. The biggest confra man Ateke is also the biggest peacekeeper. If you cause ruckus in my town, you will hear from Ateke.

Actually contrary to what raumdeuter and yourself are saying, it's actually not advisable for economic reasons and one of the rationale is what you just highlighted. Infact, financial advisors/planners advise against it, some even going as far as saying both couples should not work in the same sector - for diversification reasons.

A good example is what happened in the oil sector during the 2014/15 oil crisis and covid era. Imagine both couples working in oil companies then, or maybe both you guys work in the tech sector and exposed to the recurrent layoffs which happens a lot more frequently now. Infact, if both couples have investments, companies from that sector will completely be ruled out by the advisor (even if its a top performer), and more risk play will be suggested - heavy unemployment/disability insurance etc

Of course, this is in developed economies, in naija - as long as you have an ok to well paying job, all of these becomes secondary. People have to survive first

In the words of one ninja, good women outnumber good men handsomely

Therefore there will be many good women who will never know the love of a good man

Therefore men are the prize.

Those women in the congregation shouting "Men dey" must be planning to share the same man. Men dey but good men no dey.
