It's just as risky as being on the phone o.

1. The sim card could become unreadable by any device - na chip dey inside and chips fit go psycho.

2. No body prays to have their phone stolen or misplaced, but even if you retrieve your sim, those contacts are gone - you get a blank sim.

You likely already have an active and personal gmail (android) that you can switch to as your primary contact storage (copy existing contacts there too (I'm sure there's something similar for iPhone and iCloud).
