Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has described the president’s supporters as “MAD” about his re-election bid in 2027.


Onanuga made the remark in a post on X while reacting to comments by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, who criticised Tinubu’s economic policies.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Benin City, Edo State, Amaechi said only “mad people” and “thieves” would vote for Tinubu in the 2027 election.


Faulting the president’s economic policies, Amaechi described the removal of the fuel subsidy as “reckless”, adding that Edo residents who voted for Tinubu would be “mad”.


Onanuga wrote: “Rotimi Amaechi: Yes, we, the followers and supporters of President Tinubu, are truly MAD. Read why we are.


“Motivated, driven by purpose and passion. Assured, confident in our vision and victory.

“Determined, focused, resolute, and unstoppable for President Tinubu’s re-election.”

I am very much confident that Nigeria wont be any better, unless GOD decides to help the country for the sake of folks like us.

Tinubu’s supporters will continue to support men of dubious and questionable characters to spit us. Remember that these same peeps supported Buhari. You think that they do not know that tilumbu is the least qualified of all candidates? They actually do. It's only hatred and the inate satisfaction that they "won" that drives them.

3, Reno Omokri- Self styled wannabe publicist and PR stunts man put up an irritating propaganda machinery after working for Alhaji Atiku and failed. A pen for hire and one of the most predictable jobmen in the PBAT regime. Denied ambassadorial acceptance in Mexico.

4, Daniel Bwala: Seems to have been bewitched with the use of words and phrases. Had an embarrassing edition with Mehdi Hasan with a viewership of over 2m YouTube views caught lying tounge in cheek.

5, Engr. David Umahi : His bold and emphatic statement to his South East brothers quoted as "Don't vote for Peter Obi" is currently being termed as the biggest betrayal of the S/E Presidential ambition having been starved of National prominence for 60yrs as Presidency and not even a VP slot Post '99 Democratic rule.

6, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo: The Allegations of the Finances by Soludo and the Godfather of his Children debate has been taken as going too far to diminish the image of the NDC candidate whilst Debt Management Office (DMO) has debunked the debt issue saying Soludo's figure are way above the recorded debt stock of Anambra state during POs handover date.

7, Twenty Three (23) Million Poverty Striken Nigerians : The World Bank, IMF and recently the EU has affirmed than indeed Nigeria has the highest number of multidimensional poor and vulnerable people in the whole world.

Since PBAT assumed power, 23 million additional people have slid into the poverty trap based on the reforms including the PMS subsidy removal, electricity tarrif hikes and insecurity.
