I mostly don't go near anything LG lately, I don't know why the counterfeit is much more than the original. Probably cos the years it has been selling here Nigeria. Fr I can't just pin to a single reason.

Android is an operating system for some Smart TVs. Not all Smart TVs use android OS.
Original LG Smart TV does not use android OS, they use webOS.
Possibly, the LG Smart TV you have is a counterfeit. When next you want to buy something, do some findings about it. I hope this helps.

The buyer is right, LG TV run on the own native OS called WebOS not Android.

Only counterfeit LG TVs sold at Alaba International run on Android OS.

If you want to buy original smart TVs that run on android OS then buy Sony, TCL, Polyster or Hisense.

I have used Sony Brevia I bought from UK and I have been using LG WebOS since 2018 till date, there is no world where the Sony is better than the LG especially LG's flagship Oled models.

LG sold by Fouani are original but with their quality trimmed down to fit our purchasing power that's why Made for Fouani is written on the electronics.

I was buying all my electronics from Fouani TV I discovered this, since then I get my TVs and other stuffs from the UK through.

So after doing the video and he saw the tv displayed android on the screen,he said he doesn't have interest again that he wants only smart tv. So the argument started and I told him isn't smart tv and android the same? Since they both can connect to wifi to watch YouTube and Netflix and other o online apps,but he disagreed that he wants only smart tv, without telling me how to spot the difference in case of next time.

So pls experienced tech gurus how do one spot the difference between smart tv and android one, and what make them different?

Thank God he said he's not buying. A LG brand showing "Android Logo" is definitely fake, original LG only shows something like Web Os .

You are wrong. It's like saying iphone is not as smart as Samsung because Samsung runs on android OS while iPhone runs on IOS. All TVs that run on an OS are smart irrespective of whether it is Android or WebOS or VIDAA OS or any other OS. None is 'smarter' than the other! @OP, the LG you have is a Chinese clone which was simply rebadged at Alaba with the LG logo. It's not an LG! LG TVs don't run on Android OS but WebOS

The others use proprietary os. LG uses webos. Samsung uses tizen

Major difference is their operating system. They both are smart tv sets given they give access to "smart features". Regardless, every android TV is a smart tv but not every smart tv is an android TV. Apps on Smart tv sets are restricted to manufacturer's preference while Android sets give access to a lot of Google play store.

One last thing is the update.

Android TV are older and and hardly gets update and also will soon be phased out.

LG TV primarily uses Web OS so the LG android display on the screen is a big red flag indicating it's a fake.

There are many fake tv taking the same name with the original. It's best u do ur research before buying any electronics or better still visit a recognized brand store to purchase.

They are both smart tvs the difference is the operating system

Note: Samsung, Hisense and LG don’t manufacture android tvs and any android tv you see from these brands are either fake or from 3rd party manufacturers

Hence the reason you can get a 43inch android for like 150k and 43inch smart tv for like 280k

Did you say LG tv running on android os? The buyer is right. Cause your LG TV is definitely fake. LG don't run on android but Rukko i think, while hisense runs on ViDDa. Well android tv has access the playstore and thus are entitled to many apps

His loss, smart tv is simply TV's with different OS, among them android TV is the best for me, if I don't see android tv i don't want any ither brand of smart tv. But, I don't think LG has android tv, they operate on Web OS

Native OS offered by TV brand such as Vida and WebOs it’s sort of difficult or impossible to find an app that livestreams football
