Good my people.

Please I need advice on what kind of lucrative business one could do with 2.5M. That's all I have in heaven and earth unless I want to sell my properties to raise more. But as things stand, 2.5 is all I have in my account as capital although there is a possibility I can double the amount before December.

I'm actually a dispatch rider but this work (although very lucrative) is too hectic and tiring.
I decided to buy more bikes but then it turns out that dispatch work is only lucrative if you ride the bike yourself. The moment you start giving out bikes, the prospect dwindles. So I plan to sell my remaining 4 bikes, reason I claimed I could double the capital later down the year.

My spine hurts badly, my chest feels tight, my palms moved from soft too coarse, my eyes are sandy. Dispatching isn't something one does for a long time, in fact when I ventured into it, the plan was to do it for 1 and half years but ended up do 2 years. I have gathered enough and I need to go into something lucrative and yet less stressful.

Depends, do you have a skill you can invest into like a creative skill(sales, marketing, import, export) otherwise apprentice on any you may like for a while to get a hang of it and then invest your own cap. Another way, is, after selling your bikes , add the total and invest in mutual funds(18.6% yoy) grow yield. Slow and steady, but for this to work , you need a hustle to keep the light on, perhaps continue with your delivery but carefully chose which despatch and distance to accept so as to keep food on the table, in 3 years, your money will double. Then calculate how much you make quarterly and make that your living expenses while the other bulk of the cap keeps minting cash flow...

Your 2 years for road na capital too, you don sabi which vendors dey send parcel every day and wetin dem dey complain about. Before you sell all 4 bikes, try keep 2, comot from the road yourself and run the bookings and payment from your phone, then pay the riders per drop instead of daily target. Give am like 3 months, if the numbers no work then sell. And abeg check that chest tightness with doctor first.

Sell daily needs. In my own case I sell cooking Gas known as LPG.

I started September last year with a capital of 800k.


Fire extinguisher as at then 25k.

I bought two tokunbo 62kg cylinders called bottles for 170k each.

Scale 100kg 80k.

Hose and tap and verve for filling 6kg and 3 kG cylinders cost me 70k.

Shop rent per year 150k.

Fire permit.... 10k

Association levy 10k.


Total cost plus other miscellaneous expenses got to 750k.

As for now things are for more expensive than before. If you are starting with two cylinders/bottles budget close to a 1.5million naira.

Bro. You sit down and ask yourself what you want to do with the money and work towards it. If you invest money into what you don't really know about, you may end up losing all the money. So I'll advice you go into something you already know about or better still go and learn about it. No rush. You'll be amazed that people are willing to help you squander that money on ideas that won't bring you profit.

With ₦2.5m, please don't sell your properties or put the entire ₦2.5m into another business immediately. Your health should also be a priority.

I would consider businesses where your money works without you doing physical labour every day:

1. Foodstuff/wholesale distribution – rice, beans, garri, oil, beverages, etc. Start small and supply retailers.
2. POS + bill payment + small convenience shop** – only if you have a good location.
3. Laundry business – employ someone to handle operations while you manage it.
4. Mini importation/reselling – focus on fast-moving products rather than buying random goods.
5. Digital/service business – printing, branding, social media management, phone accessories, etc., especially if you have the skills.

My strongest advice:Keep at least ₦800k–₦1m as emergency reserve, and use only about ₦1.5m–₦1.7m to test a business. Don't chase a business simply because someone says it's lucrative.

And because you're experiencing chest tightness and significant back/spine pain, please get medically checked rather than assuming it's just from dispatch work.

Imagine the frustration and headache people have to go through and all for pittance. Guy your 2.5m was £10k few years ago, today it is a little more than 1k. The question is now will you with open, clear eye still vote for this man? Will you not have fever when you hear APC? Naa, you are Nigerian, likely also to vote based on tribal sentiments, so the suffering and poverty continues.
All I know is that we the righteous will continue to prevail and chop life, God willing.

Why not start with men's wears. Go to Lagos Island, buy nice wears (Shirts, Trousers, Wristwatches, etc) . Rent a shop or you can advertise on Facebook for a start. Or better still you can get someone to help you manage a social media account for that purpose. Be posting on Instagram and Tiktok or anywhere you can think of posting. You'll definitely have good turnover because now every young man wants to look good.

Please what type of logistics do you run, is it regular transportation of people or you move certain goods only and you said you have 3 mini buses, everyone keep complaint when they give the car/bike to people they st at t to misbehave and not balance them, I would like to know how you handle that too. Go to YouTube and learn the art of grilling meat. Set up a meat grilling or barbecue business with correct branding on social media, word of mouth etc....buy different meats from beef to chicken to turkey to sausage to goat to pork, and be grilling at home, out in the open, with various sauces and condiments like barbecue sauce, chilli sauce, Mayonnaise, ketchup, Mint sauce, Suya pepper etc.

Set up an order and delivery service. Including online orders.

You will be tired of money. 💰

Nothing beats sitting in your house and people coming to you to pay you money, not you running around everywhere looking for money.

After a while employ someone to grill the meat while you simply market the business and count money.

Don't over-market it o! Or you will be inundated with orders, especially from rich folks that do bulk orders for events. Just coded marketing in line with what you can produce in your time and space.

Once you get big, you can open up a joint to do it bigger.

Forget all those sufferhead businesses those guys are suggesting.

The easiest way to make money is not by chasing money, but by making money chase you.

Wrong time to start any business.

Many youth have result to farming after selling their cars and land.

Some into fish, goat and birds.

The economy is going down.

If you are not into food items , schools stuff , religious items and essentials. You will find it difficult not to even talk of starting a new business.

The reality is that u have to understand the rudiment of the business first.

I don't carry people but goods, I operate in a big market so I have many customers

U know people buy goods that Keke napep can't carry, so u carry it for them n charge them.

The reality is that u drive it yourself first n after getting customers n u buy more, u park your cars at a particular place n keep d keys

When customers come u will give the keys to your driver to take them there, na u go follow customer talk n negotiate price so no cheating

Invest in Nigerian food business in Accra, Ghana it’s highly lucrative and the exchange rate when converting from Cedis to Naira is high that makes it easy

Get a small shop and be selling food stop like beans, rice, gari semovita and other food stop.

Where are you located. Do you have land. Go to cattle market or north and buy cow calf at 150 or 200k, you can get 6 calf at 1.5. train them for 6months and resell each 600k or above if you are close to people who do party often or connect with family who al bring you buyers.

This is good advice.

Just a little edit: the 18% yoy is not a guarantee because the market is always fluid.

In everything, don't lose the hustle in your mind while trying to keep the work schedule more reasonable.

Come let's open a profitable Block industry down here in the East, where building projects na water. An half plot of land in a very secured and busy area is already available for the project.
