Shade Okoya Blocked Me From Seeing My Father – Fatai Okoya by dominique(mod): 12:26pm On Oct 20
The estranged first son of billionaire businessman, Chief Razaq Okoya, Fatai Okoya, has opened up on his alleged attempts to reconcile with his father.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session following his public apology, Fatai said he had repeatedly tried to reach his father, sometimes through his friends, but struggled to get close to him.

“I have tried very much to get in touch with my father,” he said, adding, “Most of the time, I was not allowed to get close to him.”

Recounting his experience at his father’s 86th birthday celebration on January 12, 2026, Fatai said he received a VIP welcome but was allegedly stopped from approaching his father by his wife, Shade Okoya.

“I was turned back by Alhaja Shade Okoya,” he said, claiming he only wanted to greet his father, adding that his father saw him but did not speak, saying, “My father did not have anything to say.”

After 40 Years Apart, Fatai Begs Razaq Okoya For Forgiveness
Fatai explained that their disagreement involved a small amount of money he took while younger and reckless. He also cited his decision to marry a woman his father reportedly disapproved of, insisting he was young and in love at the time.

He recalled that his grandmother was unhappy about the prolonged rift and once questioned his father over the situation, asking, “What are you going to do to your brother and sister when I am gone?”

Chief Razaq Okoya’s brother, who was present during the session, also criticised the alleged intervention that prevented Fatai from seeing his father.

Fatai apologised again and appealed for an opportunity to reunite with his father, recalling how close they were during his childhood.

The host Yeyekudi called on billionaire businessman Baba Ijebu, a friend of Chief Razaq Okoya, to intervene and help facilitate their reconciliation.

New Telegraph had earlier reported on Fatai’s open letter asking for a chance at reconciliation after they became estranged because of conflicts on embezzled funds and clash on his life partner.

Lame reason excuse to good communication and relationship with a dad.
Sometimes there is an underlying reason generated from what is referred to as foolish pride in cases or issues like this one.

Anyways shout out to all chess players on nairaland still earning from the game of strategy.

You must have been a problem child yourself cuz I recollect reading about Shade Okoya's wedding in Gist magazine while I was in secondary school. That means it's not up to 40 years that is being claimed this dude has been separated from his father.
Now I just read further that the guy is over 60, how is Shade that got married to your Papa around 99/00 the problem?
Go back and form the story again

He stayed too long before addressing the issue.

If you are the child or wife of a wealthy polygamist, just know that you in competition. Make wise moves.

The funny thing, Mr. Fatai mismanaged the company, unconfirmed report said he was into drug. At 66, I don't think he needs his father's support. 18 is the age of liberty in USA. His wife said her husband is thinking because of the conditions of their living. grin grin grin grin

Re: Shade Okoya Blocked Me From Seeing My Father – Fatai Okoya by MasterTeeUSA: 3:30pm On Oct 20
The son has not learnt any lesson. If your father wanted to speak to you, he would reach out. The wife cannot stop him from speaking to you. It is like saying your Dad does not have a mind of his own which is a subtle insult. You may think you are degrading your father's wife, but you are really insulting your Dad by claiming he has no manhood. You should focus on building your life, and stop trying to reconcile with the hope of getting a part of his will or money. Children must learn to be successful in their own rights. Your parents' wealth is not an entitlement. Clearly, he is still a boy without much sense.

I wish him success in his effort to reconcile with his father.

However, now that you are an adult, why are you still behaving like a foolish youth? You want to reconcile with your father, you are engaging on Tiktok. Your name can open many doors to your father's friend. If you go to some of their children that you want to see their father to reconcile with your father. They will find a way to speak with your father on your behalf. Obasanjo, Tinubu, baba ijebu, Otedola, kings like oni of ife that is committed to peace and reconciliation. even Shade's parent.

It's not sensible to make such a bold statement.

An 86 year old man, probably doesn't possess the right mental state that allows reconciliation with his son. If he suffers from some form of fronto-temporal dementia, he may not even recognise or know that he has a son. The body may be there but the mind is long gone.

Thank you. You just express my mind unlike some small babies here. There is an adage in my mother tongue that says if pikin dey behave like pikin, elder will behave like elder. I wonder why the man has not forgiven his child for a whole 40 years. O wrong now. I am sure that Shade of a wife is a freaking controlled and jealous woman who has manipulated the man into submission. We all see this in movies. Anyways, it is well. Everyone knows what they are doing
Re: Shade Okoya Blocked Me From Seeing My Father – Fatai Okoya by Fiscus105(m):
Shade okoya was also the one who told you to steal your daddy business's money..

She was the one who asked you to refuse your father's advise not to marry a particular woman.

If they have handed over the business for you, prodigal son would have perished the business.

May God not make me use my hand give away, what rightfully belong to me.

While you are lamenting on every social medium, Sade is busy giving advert to fill up the existing vacancies in your daddy conglomerate as CEO
