Pressure to deliver, and make your parents, siblings, even society at large proud as a first son. The moment you start bowing to that pressure, you stop owing your life, which is an open road to waywardness, and eventually depression.

It's not just wealthy families, even poor families. This case is more spiritual than physical. The firstborn is the gatekeeper of the family, the challenges, battles and curses of the family are thrice on the firstborn's head. So are the blessings, glory and greatness of the family. The first born opens the way, blazes the path and bears the brunt. The rearing of the first born is very delicate as no one comes before them (unlike the younger ones) they usually have no one within their generation to look up to (like an elder brother) unlike their younger siblings who will spend their life looking up to, observing and learning from the experiences, choices, fate and actions of the firstborn. This is why where you see a firstborn down in most cases the 2nd or 3rd or another or two down the line makes it. This is one of the advantages of the extended family system practiced by our ancestors before the coming of 'modernization' which brought the nuclear family system along with it. In the extended family the firstborn is not alone, he must have an uncle or nephew or cousin of his generation, then there's the age grade. This gives the firstborn the opportunity to learn most experiences of life from others who are ahead of him yet in the same age range. This makes it easier for them to assimilate thereby giving them a balanced edge, like the siblings, from which they can face life from a more informed angle. This is a reason the rate of firstborn failures among our forbears and among the extended family system is abysmally low, compared to the nuclear family and compared to the times we are in. Then another factor is also related to the nature of the nuclear family system. Unlike the extended family where the father is not completely left to shoulder the responsibilities of the family, the nuclear family is so isolated that the father (or parents), if they weren't well-off before making kids, bears the burden of taking care of the family in all or most aspects, visibly bleeding emotionally, psychologically, and otherwise from the effort. And the firstborn, the closest to the hierarchy after the parents, at that tender age is assimilating and taking in everything; the struggle, shame, abuse, disgrace, disappointment, hunger, lack name it. The sum of all these translate into trauma for some firstborns, which in turn translate into pressure as they grow, especially at the period where the parents' extraordinary effort provided the firstborn with a privilege or an opportunity which the others were not opportuned to have, maybe owing to the fact that the parents had to gamble with the choice of using what is available to make way for one who might stand a better chance to make way for the others through that little opening. This most times ends up going down the drain, for where the firstborn is still struggling alone with the trauma of childhood coupled with their naïveté about life, the parents being reduced to a desperate level of existential living now resort to make a Messiah of the firstborn. The siblings, having an almost trauma less childhood (for the firstborn is right in the front of the trauma, taking it all in), have almost nothing else to think about than what the parents are now thinking about and hoping on - The Messiah of the family. This in turn quadruples the pressure on the first born, who soon goes out of sync, trying to impress the family like a sacrificial lamb. So while life is dealing horribly with the 'messiah' who is traumatized, inexperienced, naïve and unprepared, life seems to be smiling favorably on the almost-trauma less younger siblings who have or are learning from the mistakes, experiences, choices, actions and life of the firstborn.
This, among others, is the sad case of the firstborn.

There are many things to put into consideration, if you think your pman is going down, it's possible he is chesting many responsibilities that is not his responsibility. He is old now, he can't be running up and down as he used to again. If he doesn't have a lot of investment put in place, his wealth will definitely reduce. Whether you are a first son or not, you will face many phases as a man but when you eventually make it, learn from your dad, be nice, but don't always chest the responsibilities that are not your own, build many investments that can sustain you at old age.

Above all, don't joke with prayers it is the key.
