People who solve other people's problems will always make money .
Money don't grow on trees in Europe o
There is a reason Nigeria is poverty capital of the world.
Poor education,
Poor electricity
Corruption
Failed public infrastructure development
High interest rate
malpractises, bad road, cant farm due to insecurity. So, these things are govt problems, not citizens.

... That waste disposal, that biz na money with low capital to set up but the returns is huge...
....Waste disposal is money.. I worked there before moving cos of the government changing the system... It is dominated by politicians mainly... You don't have to buy a truck or waste disposal truck for it, you can just rent it. And if you have a truck for renting out for waste disposal,..you will be rich, you going to get work daily to the extent that you will be begging your your clients that your truck needs to rest and still they will be begging you to rent it out for them....
...When we started it, we started with just 25,000 around 2021 and that money was used to pay the truck rental and truck (tipper) was collecting 35k per trip. And a truck can carry 50 to 80 drums depending on the size of the truck and also the waste in the drums..
The charge for a drum is 2k while any excess is #500 or 1k depending on the size. That 2k is for domestic/household drum... It's monthly charge..
Banks are paying 25k and above but maximum of 40k per month ,cos their waste is mostly papers.
Clubs 15k and above.. some clubs we are charging them 50k cos their waste is much ..
Fastfood, nothing less than 100k per month as at 2021.. and that time we were packing 3..
Hotels is 15k and above...(still coming)
I find this interesting because just this evening I was talking about how possible it is for one to do this business as waste disposal is a challenge in my environment.

How did you get the place to dispose the waste? Please, I would like to know?

I don’t agree that no business is lucrative to do in Nigeria.

But as a Nigerian citizen living abroad, I am very scared of investing my hard earned money into the Nigerian economy in any business venture because I might be unable to bear looses occasioned by theft and corruption which are the business currency of Nigeria.

Nigeria with its over 200million people remains a profitable market for investment but except you have a perfect system of controls, accountability, checks and balances, do not invest in Nigeria if you don’t live in the country.

Other associated risk of investing in Nigeria is the nearly nonexistent of a proven insurance industry that’s trustworthy, hence you tend to bear total risks of losses for your business. Of course insecurity and the poorly regulated environment including competition and customer related regulations makes Nigeria unattractive for the prudent and shrewd investor.

When I am ready though, I will invest but for now, I will stay away!
Better start business where you base in. Govt will ensure they help you stay afloat, stable economy and currency especially if Western country.

Nigeria business economy like you said, needs insurance cos most of them fold I first 5 years.

There are many businesses that are profitable Oga. It's either you're too proud to start one or you're too broke to afford the startup capital.

Example of the ones you're too proud to start

1. Waste disposal
2. Laundry
3. Buy and sell from village market

Examples of the ones you're too broke to start
1. Shipping and forwarding
2. Import from China
3. Oil and Gas logistics
4. Private School
Have you done any of these businesses huh

I get what the guy is saying he's not just wording it well

Even school business. If you are lucky that your husband has a land and have already erected a building there, you can start your school from it.

But the problem is getting workforce such as cleaners, nanny. Na that time you go tire for school biz.

Op, this poster revealed some good and lucrative business ideas to you.

To add to what he has listed, Airbnb is booming in Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt, Owerri.

Night club, lounge and bar is lucrative if you site it in a busy part of any state capital.

Shortlet accommodation for urgent fun seekers is lucrative in towns and cities in Nigeria.

Equipment leasing like payloaders, lowbeds, dump trucks, trailers, bulldozers is very lucrative in Nigeria.

Buying palm oil aka red oil from remote areas and taking to cities to resell is very lucrative business to consider.

Commercial cassava farming is lucrative.

Water melon farming is lucrative.

Plantain and banana farming are lucrative.

Yes the poster have a point, especially for low budget businesses, its very hard to break even in Nigeria now as harsh economy has pushed most Nigerians into pety businesses making it difficult to find buyers or patronage as more Nigerians are now doing pety businesses leading to over concentration of small businesses within areas compared to patronages.

When the nations economy is doing poorly, it affects businesses very well so the op have a point but didn't present his opinion properly

Night club is not 500 million business o. The location u talk about can gulp 200 million before u start putting a lot of things in place. Start with trade. Buy cheap. In my locally in Sari Iganmu. The day u try to sell cheap stuff the winch among the old market union will send money that is inflicted with bad luck. The business will just flop within weeks. Thats why they control what we buy. The pepper u buy in Orile for 500 naira u will buy it for 100 naira in other place when the stuff is in good surplus.

You think the biggest headache of running a school in Lagos is finding cleaners and nannies? My brother, that’s just the beginning.

First, LASPPPA will need to ensure your building plans and approve. LASBCA will come and confirm the building is safe and fit for use. Also depending on the premises, you may need Fire clearance from LASEPA. OEQA will inspect the school and verify that the facilities, teachers and records meet education standards. All these nah money!

Land Use Charge will follow from the Ministry of Finance. LASAA will bill you annually for your signboards and even the branding on your school buses. LIRS will be waiting for your tax remittances while LAWMA too will charge you monthly for waste. .

Before you know it, another agency is asking for one permit or another. You are probably running on diesel through this and yet we haven’t even started talking about local govt and FG tax obligations. Omo onile too dey.

The real comedy is navigating all the agencies, paperwork, inspections at the end of the day, the cleaners and nannies might not be your biggest headache. Na the agencies wey go help you spend the school fees before the parents even pay am. 😂

OP, I am not here to redeem or convince you o. Just kontinu. Misery/badluck loves company too.

Some people are so unfortunate in life that even if they sell ordinary water to people living in desert, they will not still get a single buyer to patronize them.

The land has cursed such people by witholding its blessings from them. That is what many people are suffering from in Nigeria, a land flowing with milk and honey.

They cursed the land of Nigeria and the land of Nigeria cursed them back. Nothing they sow in Nigeria is ever blessed and they and their descendants become miserable and permanently accursed.

If you ever make the mistake of bringing these accursed people on board even a thriving business, their ill-luck follows them around and the once thriving business will fail! Some of them inherited the badluck and they soon transfer their badluck to their own family, children and their inherited illluck continue down their unborn generations.

I know some Ibadan/Abeokuta/Lagos Yoruba families that trace back their still thriving family success till date to at least their 6th generation, I know some foreigners whose fathers came to Nigeria with just a pair of shirt and trousers and today are multibillionaires with multi-generational wealth yet I hear of some people in same Nigeria who lament that they have never ever been successful or wealthy in their own lineage from their great grandfathers, grandfathers, fathers, even up to their own and their children's generation. Same country yet opposite rewards from same land.

They are the unfortunate and unhappy people any serious person who wants to make it in life must flee from!

If you marry them or have anything to do with these people, you are done for. Their own badluck is pro-MAX!
All these are nothing but fallacy/superstition.

Let us not over pretend about this matter

They keep asking what business can you do or what business idea do you have

What can you sell

Nonsense cry

No business is selling in Nigeria

Doesn't mean crime will solve the problem

But I wonder what will

The economic issue has made it impossible for any single business here to be lucrative

And nobody is supporting any business ideas

Enough is enough

In fact they have concluded that you are doomed except God will repair you

But same people will accuse you of offending God and not deserving anything good from him

I have never seen a country as frustrating as this

What do you mean by if you don't have millions, you can't expect to make millions?
SoftHeart:
On the contrary Sir, there are multiple lucrative businesses in Nigeria, however some require a huge capital and dedication to start and succeed. There are farmers for instance, selling 200 crates of tomatoes weekly and poultry selling over 400 crates of eggs weekly. You can do the math. One thing I've come to realise is that, if you don't have millions, you can't expect to make millions over night. I know farmers using new Hilux for farm runs. Make God answer my call.
