Honestly, at this point, I don't think you necessarily need to employ an outsider for this role.

Considering the salary, accommodation, feeding, and the level of responsibility you're expecting the person to handle, I think it may be better to first look within your family.

You could consider a trusted cousin, younger sibling, your mother's brother's child, your mother's sister's child, or even someone from your father's side of the family who is responsible and willing to learn.

The advantage is that you are more likely to have an existing level of trust and accountability. You can also train the person, involve them in the business gradually, and help them grow with the business.

My concern with bringing in a complete stranger is that you're not just paying ₦50,000. You're also providing accommodation and food, while giving the person access to the day-to-day running of your business. That is a lot of responsibility and exposure for someone you don't know.

And honestly, you shouldn't build your business on the assumption that every employee will steal. There are honest people out there. However, when someone has access to your cash, stock, customers, supplies, and business operations, you need proper controls regardless of who the person is.

So rather than looking for someone who is simply willing to accept ₦50k, I would first ask:

“Who in my family can I trust, train, and develop into someone who can eventually take responsibility for this business?”

You may discover that the person you need is already within your family.

And if you eventually decide to employ someone outside the family, make sure you have proper documentation, clear responsibilities, inventory records, daily reporting, financial controls, and accountability systems in place.

Trust is important, but systems are what protect a business.

You said get someone in the family? Lol. i trusted my first business in hands of my fiancee, it crashed and didn'tknow where the money all went to.

I gathered courage and rebuilt the business, this time I employed my jnr brother, it was worse.

Even after putting every accountability system in place. And yes, i couldn't do anythingbecause they are family.

An outsider came in, only stole a few money, i got him arrested and his family members paid my money. Ask anyone the last person you want to help handle your business is any relative. I would never try it again
