Fashola's situation with Tinubu is completely different from the situation between ElRufai and Tinubu.

Fashola is a product of Tinubu's grooming and political leadership. However, ElRufai was not groomed, led or exposed to politics by Tinubu. ElRufai was product of Obasanjo's leadership period, maybe schooled politically by someone or some other body, but brought to limelight under the Obasanjo's administration.

Fashola and Tinubu fell out especially towards the end of Fashola's first term and through the second term of Fashola as governor of Lagos state. The case was further complicated when Fashola became a minister, who took the place of Lagos, in Buhari's cabinet, without the recommendation of Lagos State government or power brokers of Lagos State.

Fashola was no longer loyal to Tinubu but he was also not Tinubu's enemy. He stayed aloof and played safe.

I am so sure that Fashola knew that he could not be in position of power under the government of Tinubu, though Tinubu can be unpredictable sometimes.

However, ElRufai is a bigot, he feels superior and pretends to be a statesman or bipartisan or refined or non-bigot or ethnic superiority complex driven person. A close look at ElRufai makes me see otherwise. He is a selfish politician like every other Nigerian politicians, including Tinubu. ElRufai was offered a ministerial appointment under the Tinubu administration but he declined simply because he wasn't offered a guaranteed a particular position. He wasn't even polite or respectful in his effort to turn it down he made a public drama of it to sensationalize his message and refused to show up for screening anyway. He started to be overly critical of the administration too soon and drew the enemy line.

Tinubu prioritizes loyalty and grassroots politics. When you have ever benefited or followed him and you became disloyal or betray him, at a point. The chances that he will forget or grant you that opportunity or more opportunity again is very slim.

Indeed. That tells you all you need to know about Tinubu. Despite all Fashola did during the electioneering campaign, he sidelined him after winning. Elrufai also indicated his interest to go further his studies. That didn't stop Tinubu from making him promise in public to discard the idea only to stab him behind his back. He had everything pre-planned and that's his treacherous nature. He will do the same to the likes of Yari and Co if he manages to win, and you all will call him a master strategist for doing so while claiming Yari betrayed him or some other phantom excuse. Fashola needs some rest but Nyesome Wike doesn't, abi?
The same elrufai that confessed to the crime of tapping into the NSA phone lines or another one? If you were asiwaju would you allow such a security risk and useless man in your cabinet?

Oga Aminda, we all saw Fashola SAN activeness during Jagaban election. He mounted the control room and he needs some rest after 16 straight years serving Lagos and Nigeria.
Is he tired from his DISSERVICE to Nigeria and Nigerians huh

What a useless, wicked and horrible propagandist liar he is, just like others in their All Promises Cancelled, APC party.

pendy79:
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Sunday evening boasted that he could provide uninterrupted power supply to Lagos residents between six and eight months.

Fashola spoke at the commissioning of 8.5 megawatts Lekki Independent Power Project (IPP), the fifth of such power projects in the last five years in the state.

The governor said the addition of the Lekki IPP was a testament to the fact that stable power does not require rocket science to achieve in the country.

While challenging power distribution companies in the state, Fashola said, “Let the Eko DISCOs sign a contract with me, giving part of their concessioning to the state government, in about six to eight months, there will be power in all homes in Lagos State,” Fashola said.

He added, “So, let no one say that he has no money to deliver power for the entire country. This is the limit to which the law allows us to do, but we have done this to make a statement that power can be generated. So, when they come with lies that power is impossible, you can tell them that we have power here; we make it possible”.

The project, courtesy of the state government, in partnership with Heritage Bank, is to serve Lagos State Water Corporations in Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, as well as over 25km of public lightening in the Lekki axis.

Was the ministry supplying transformers when NEPA was in charge of power?
Were private DISCOs not in place when he promised six months to fix electricity, once Nigerians replace PDP cheap petrol and prosperity with APC extreme poverty and insecurity shege in 2015?

How else do we know that he is another clueless chochocho balablu bulaba town hall clown like his empty barrel godfather?

nnamdibig:
If you don’t have electricity, it is not the Federal Government’s problem, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has declared.

Fashola, who disclosed this while speaking at the Nextier Power Dialogue on Wednesday night in Abuja, told his listeners that there were problems in the power sector, but reminded them that it was not the Federal Government’s problem if citizens in the country do not have electricity, especially since the sector was privatised.

He said, “There are problems without a doubt and we must deal with them. But let me remind you, all of the assets that the Ministry of Power used to control for power have been sold by the last administration before I came. And so if you don’t have power, it is not the government’s problem. Let us be honest.

“The people who are operating the power sector, generation and distribution are now privately owned companies. I am here because I am concerned. If your telephone is not working, it is not the minister of communication that you go to. Let us be very clear.”

The minister added, “So for those of you who want to weaponise electricity, face the businessmen who have taken it up. Let us be honest. If your bank over-charges you interest, is it the minister of finance you go to? So let’s be clear. This is now a private business by Act of parliament 2005.

“My role is regulatory, oversight and policy, but I have a problem which is the fact that I can’t see a problem and turn my back, so I’m getting involved. So the people you should be talking to about transformers is not me, the ministry doesn’t supply transformers anymore.”

Like Fashola, like Elrufai. Tinubu cannot stand competent opinionated men who can stand their own ground and tell him the truth. He prefers yes-men and sycophants who sing the mandate song and wear the slavechain insignia cap. Tinubu should stop hiding behind a finger. It wasn't those around him who didn't want Fashola. It was Tinubu himself. Fashola only got second tenure because Tinubu had no choice. He was going to get the Ambode treatment in his second stint as governor.
The same Fashola that u Obinggos were calling Minister of Darkness, Investigator on Lekki bridge etc is now who could have transform Tinubu team? What he couldn't do with Buhari for 8 years. So Tinubu dont have other people he can use apart from all these recycled failed Politicians? Especially those who just finished 8 years with Buhari and u all tagged them failures?
You u dont like the way he brought in fresh ideas like Wale Edun, Bosun Tijani, Lateef Fagbemi, Yemi Cadosso, Jumoke Oduwole, Bianca Ojukwu, Yilwatilda, Alausa, Lola Ade John, Taiwo Oyedele, Uju Kennedy, Lokpobiri etc.
You still prefer El-Rufai, Fashola, Ameachi, Aregbesola, Lawal the grasscutter, These people u have earlier termed failure but now your saviour bcs they now oppose Tinubu your enemy.

Even the blind & deaf know that, Tinubu will loose with very wide margin, like 2:1000 if he go ahead to stop Fashola for 2nd term them,

The masses already positioned themselves, others parties are already woo Fashola,

They are just waiting for Tinubu final position, before some people tell am the truth that if this man contest in any party he will surely win.

The love that people have for Fashola then can be compared to love that Christian have for Jesus & Muslim have for mohammed.

No be play something, people are ready to die for that course, Tinubu is not that Popular then or powerful then.

Because for the first time in history, people are witnessing construction & transformation in every nook & crany of the state.

Anywhere you go, you see construction transformation work going on, people were so happy. And they know if such a man not continue his term, all those construction & transformation is going to stop

Once you're not an ethnic bigot and corrupt, you will not have a place in the APC federal government.

Fashola was the only person from the SW who openly condemned the renaming of streets in Lagos, stating that street names have deep meaning and shouldn't be changed because of bigotry.

They hate anybody who is not an ethnic bigot; that's the same reason they hate OBJ.
But you people called Fashola a bigot when he deported your beggarly brothers to Onitsha bridge.

All lies...the TRUTH is that Fashola was disloyal to the president and it is Tinubu himself who doesn't want him. Moreover, there is nothing particularly special about Fashola. Under Buhari he was not outstanding

Oh, we are talking peecentages now? I thought we all agreed with Wike that it was "operation deliver your state or keep quiet?" What was Tinubu's percenyage in his state of origin, Osun? Elrufai was not on the ballot in Kaduna, Tinubu was. Tinubu was on the ballot in Lagos and Osun, his state of origin, and still lost. Keep expecting others to do the impossible task of delivering Tinubu in 2027 when he can barely deliver himself. You will be sorely disappointed.

Leaders only take dressing from the body language of the person in charge but the Fashola we know would have either tried his best to create an impact or resign. Tinubu has the largest cabinet in the history of this country with over 40 ministers but you can barely name 5 ministers that are performing. Tinubu is unbothered because he knows he barely funds their ministries, as confirmed by his presidential campaign spokesman.
What impact did he made when he was in Buhari's government? Fashola said fixing Nigeria electricity issue is not a rocket science, he was made the minister of the ministry and he failed woefully.

Your second statement is correct. Everybody in Lagos knows that

That would have been his biggest undoing and what would have probably crashed his empire in Lagos... That can be said to be the first time there was a backpedaling in the baba-sope republic

Fashola would have won no matter the party he defected to... Tinubu knew he was no match for "that" Fashola and had to allow Fashola have his way
