Air Force To Get 12 12 AKSUNGUR Armed Uavs And 6 T129 ATAK Attack Helicopters

The Nigerian Air Force is on the verge of a significant expansion with a new wave of strategic acquisitions. The service is expecting delivery of 12 AKSUNGUR armed UAVs, two CH-4D armed UAVs, and six additional T129 ATAK attack helicopters. This will double Nigeria's T129 ATAK fleet will double to 12 aircraft.

The incoming AKSUNGURs and CH-4Ds will complement the Nigerian Air Force's existing fleet of Chinese made Wing Loong II and CH-4 armed drones. With these additions, Nigeria will operate one of the largest and most modern fleets of armed unmanned combat aerial vehicles in Africa.

There's a good chance Nigeria will receive the additional T129 ATAK attack helicopters and AKSUNGUR UAVs from Turkey before the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters are delivered by the U.S. It took just 16 months for Nigeria to receive the first batch of T129 ATAKS from Turkey when the first contract was signed in July 2022.

Every since the Mi-35Ms were grounded, just six T-129 ATAK helicopters have carried the burden of sustaining NAF attack helicopter operations.

If the AH-1Z Vipers are available by the time the additional T129 ATAKs arrive, Nigeria will field a combined fleet of 24 of some of the world's most capable attack helicopters. This means improved operational tempo and more persistent air support for ground troops across multiple theatres.

Nigeria government should also get some Ukraine drone and drone weapon experts,they very hot now, others are doing so now, even cartels and mafias are running it

This Chief of Air staff dey different. Apparently, he is very workaholic and impressive! He is aggressively revamping the Air Force artillery with more modern precise and capable offensive arsenals. I pray he goes by to enjoy his stay as he work for Nigerian Air Force. Amen! 🙏

When I saw the aircraft name I immediately knew it was from Turkey 🇹🇷 . The Turks are world leaders in anything aircraft esp UAVs and Attack helicopters.. they sabi well well.
