Truth is Nigeria needs to manage the identification of individuals better onwards to a secure credit system , as obtains globally, than can facilitate easier terms for Nigerians like monthly rent payments, rather than yearly, consumer credit, etc.

Very strange walahi. I make sure to keep a good set of friends and associates who are positive and have winning and can-do attitude because many Nigerians are bitter and hateful people who will turn you toxic if you don't guard your energy.

Some have insulted Akpabio here saying he should focus on laws to end poverty blah, blah,blah.

Please how do we end poverty in a nation where the population outstrip resources and leaders like Atiku won't take responsibility and lead from the front to educate Northerners, especially those illiterate and unskilled, to stop marrying ten wives and birthing 25 children they cannot feed and cater for?

Have we had a conversation about this before everyone demand Tinubu and Akpabio wave a magic wand to end poverty?

Talking about hunger, don't Governors have the power to declare agricultural revolution in their States that will boost food supply and employment in a nation on Earth blessed with arable land and plenty of labour?

considering it can boosts the capacity to identify Nigerian who rent and default to improve database collation related to tenants who are credit-worthy, vandalise property etc, etc?

Of course. Nigeria must move into the age of efficiently colllating databases related to her people properly so that, home and abroad, we are linked to platforms that allows us to be verified efficiently and processed for credit, international trade, global business platforms etc, etc.

How can you rent and default? It is a waste of time. It is like that naira re-design or COVID-19, unnecessary waste of our time. How can a landlord verify my NIN? Is there a thumbprint? How does he know it is mine or even valid?

No one take house in credit in Nigeria, you pay before entering and get evisceration notice if you owe. If you are going to another house, you give him cash (no one care about your credit worth my ass).

Government can force homeowners to charge rent at a set fee? Did Government buy the house for the landlords?

Rent is determined by demand and market forces. Nothing at all to do with political leaders because landlords can demand and tenant can reject or pay.

The high cost of rent is as a result of the insane cost of building materials. Yesterday, I bought just 4 bags of cement for 60,000 Naira. Imagine what you'd spend on 300 bags to build a house....
