My Endorsement Of President Tinubu's Second Term Has Expired - Oyinlola by etokhana(op): 6:28am On Nov 05
Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola has said his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election has expired.

Recall that Oyinlola was among the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders in Osun State who endorsed Tinubu for a second term on July 20, 2025.

However, during an interview on Channels Television, the former governor was asked whether he still stood by the endorsement. He responded, "It has expired."

Oyinlola, a PDP member, went on to explain the circumstances that led to the endorsement, saying it was motivated by the political situation in Osun State at the time.

"Reason being that if you need to catch a monkey, you have to behave like one. We have a problem in Osun State. The local government funds are missing. The issue of who the rightful occupants of the local government offices are is not settled, and we believe that it's within the purview of Mr President to resolve that. But that is not coming.

"So, if we are in that kind of situation, we need to find out how to wriggle out of the problem, so that our people..., because local government is the closest arm of government to the people," he said.

He described the endorsement as a political chess move intended to address the challenges facing the state, but said it failed to produce the desired results.

"We did not achieve anything, and I exited it almost immediately," Oyinlola added.

The former governor has since declared his support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who is reportedly seeking the presidency in the 2027 general election on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM.

Re: My Endorsement Of President Tinubu's Second Term Has Expired - Oyinlola by Ofunaofu:
Tinubu knows that he has done nothing to deserve a second term:

After this much hardship, he has very little to campaign on and even less moral standing to look Nigerians in the eye and ask for a second term.

That may explain why he seems more comfortable staying away from the people than taking his message directly to them.

His strategy now appears to be simple: let the governors do the talking, mobilise the machinery, and somehow manufacture the votes.

But elections are not supposed to be a relay race where governors carry a failed administration across the finish line.

If Tinubu is truly confident in his record, let him come out, face Nigerians, defend his performance, and ask for their votes.

You cannot hide from the people and still expect the people to reward you.

This is also the thought process of governor Adeleke. He is just holding on until he gets his local government funds released, but Tinubu himself knows this and has refused to release the local government funds. Cunnyman die, cunnyman bury am. The people of Osun are the most independent-minded voters in the Southwest. They didn't vote Tinubu in 2023 and still won't vote him in 2027. Adeleke or not. If the endorsement of Tinubu was popular amongst the grassroots in Osun, Oyinlola will not be recanting.

P.S: Tinubu also gives his word and reneges on it like it's nothing. It's part of what his lackeys call master strategy. Moral flexibility is not a virtue. Real men know that word is bond.

I don't know why Nigerians are so stubborn. The man has said that if he doesn't give us constant electricity we should not vote him for the second term. He has failed to do that. Then why are we hell bent on returning him?

How does this help Atiku in a state he took last? You yourself agreed it is an internal issue. When you have nothing to say, better keep silent. Tinubu will bury Atiku here

Hmmm. Internal issues with less than 80 days to an election? Okay o. This internal issues go deep o. The APC rally in Nassarawa was a disaster. They didn't even show any single respect for the VP. Continue to place bandage over a bullet wound while pretending that everything is okay. Tinubu's greed and selfishness has destroyed the party.

You are so shameless. Your ADC has more internal issues yet you carelessly ignored it. You have more than two Guber candidates in Adamawa atiku state with less than 80 days to go. How will you manage Adamawa? Why did Binani and Abbo leave?

Hahaha. Adeleke has humbled him. He even won at Oyinlola’s polling unit. Maybe Makinde has released another new SUV to Baba.3 political parties in the space of three months.
Aregbesola only delivered 17k votes to ADC in the last Osun governorship election. How many PDP votes does Oyinlola think he can take away from Atiku and transfer to Makinde? Lol. Remember, Atiku won Osun in 2023. Makinde "go chop" Atiku’s votes in Oyo, now the remaining crumbs in Osun, and Atiku saw it coming, thus his warning to opposition parties

It's such a cowardly move to not only hide from the people but to send other people to represent you. Who does that?

That's the sign of a weak person. Hiding from the United States, running to Mecca, working abroad in France, not being able to visit his own citizens in Plateau, running away from independence day parade, these are not moves of a CinC.

I am glad he has shown his power on the national level. I don't blame him ever because he never hid who he was.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtjpjOPjuUk

Someone is always helping him do things because he hides a lot. Someone filled his governorship candidacy form, someone tells us he knows his classmates, someone tells us his biography, never himself. He loves to depend on other people to do the job for him because there's something he's hiding and not proud of.

SixSeven:
I have no problem with Tinubu anymore. The joke is not on him, the joke is on Nigeria as a society. A society that lacks integrity and explains away questionable things is making itself look like a clownish society. Tinubu is not the problem, it is the society that made it acceptable to lack integrity that is. In a normal society, it is APC as a party that would have screened out Tinubu, not the court. APC would have looked at who had better qualifications and moral compass as a party. It's not everything that is court or has to be written in the constitution. Some things are moral but what do I know? A whole SAN reminded us that the law is not moral and that's one of the first lessons I learned in law. Education is not enough, you can be educated but not learned, you can go to school but not schooled, you can come from a home but not raised properly and you can claim a lot of things but never be able to tell truth. Integrity is very expensive, all the money in the world cannot buy it.

When you say the truth in this country, you will begin to sound like a moralist, like a virgin, like a saint because we know what is true but it pains us when someone else is saying it and is not willing to participate in our lies. You don't look like you are normal anymore. Look at the Jemima Osunde video the other day, the comments to her outrage were not commending her, they were trying to normalize the madness they have created. Look at the drug smuggler Mawra and his NDLEA team caught, they were not even worried by the crime. They just wanted to replace him. Thieves. Idiotic thieves. They are so poor that the only thing they have is money.

The same Oyinlola who worked against Adeleke in the last Osun state election? The same Oyinlola who voted for Tinubu? I think he is not happy that Adeleke is the leader of the APC campaign in Osun state. He probably did not get a good offer.

Anyway, do not be surprised if the LG funds are released before the elections.

Do not be surprised if Nnamdi Kanu is released, to appease the SE and counter Obi’s votes. Do not be surprised.

If you watched the interview, you'll realize that APM and Makinde's candidacy is to support the coalition and fight Wike's hypocrisy of using PDP to support APC respectively.

There is a lot more WORK to be done by ordinary Nigerians to oblige the politicians to rally behind a solid opposition candidate who can unseat the worst rogue politician who wants to be a dictator life president like Paul Biya. This is something Obasanjo tried and failed at in 2007, thanks to Atiku's loyalty to the constitution and leadership of other democracy heroes, even at great risk to his own political ambition.
