She has two children.

There's no need giving a dog a bad name while it is already being hanged.

On the thread topic; I do believe things are changing, what I have a challenge with however are the drivers of that change, people like me and you, we seem to lack faith for the most part. Here is a link to my blog, I wrote a piece in the spirit of independence,

Denex!!!, its been a while, i completely resonate with your brief on our colonial history,

@Bluestream

I'm awed by the way a lot of Nigerian react violently to any information that is new to them. The culture shock is just too much on them and cognitive dissonance takes its toll on them too drastically so I've decided to tone down a lot on posting rare historic information. I've even decided to generally tone down a lot on my number of posts on Nairaland.

please aisha, tell me if the wind is still blowing or has it stopped to blow.
we are expecting the sweet wind to blow through the house of reps but till now, nothing.
please, if you who started this wind has stop it, it is unfair,, let the wind continue.
i am afraid the wind did not blow when inec mahines were found in adedibu's house, when andy uba was caught on money laundary, when bode george was indicted by efcc, when tony annenih messed up contract funds on our roads, when yar adua confrmed many of the several contracts obj gave out to be illegal, when chris uba over-threw an elected gov in anambra.
please someone shld let the wind continue as i am foreseeing this wind blowing in an oposite direction and the name of this wind is "selected justice" and it will result to more deadly consequenses called "multiplied corruption".

The roads in Port Harcourt are so bad and there is no end in sight to the traffic jams they cause meanwhile the government is one side painting the place white on the television and newspapers. Kidnapping is now an occupation to the laid off thugs hired by the same politicians.

Nigeria will be great, and the sweet wind of change is already blowing; rather than argue back and forth politically and otherwise, why don't we ALL try to key into that change that has begun and in our own little corners contribute to Nigeria becoming great, be it through stopping corruption on whatever level we encounter it, giving our best in school, at work irrespective of what someone else is doing, becoming people of integrity and living with purpose and focus which seeks to leave a legacy behind long after we are gone, with our names forever written in the sands of time as people who contributed to Nigeria stepping up to take her place as a Great Nation.

Anyone who thinks Nigeria can never be great is an idiot and a bastard.

Let the real idiots and bastards stand up.

Excellent! But for Nigeria to achieve greatness, she really needs selflessness and commitment in both the leaders and the led. We shall get there.

Nigeria Looks to Charge 6 Ex-Governors

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) - Nigeria's top corruption investigator said Tuesday that up to six former governors will be charged by the end of the year, a sign the country's new leadership is making good on pledges to stamp out graft in one of the world's most corrupt nations.
Nuhu Ribadu, chairman of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, refused to identify the men, saying he is afraid "they will run." But he said up to six will face charges in the next two months. He did not say what the charges would be.
"Definitely more governors will be charged," Ribadu told The Associated Press in an interview at his office in the Nigerian capital. "Governors are so afraid, wherever they go now."
Ribadu's agency was set up in 2004 as part of an anti-corruption drive by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo. Since President Umaru Yar'Adua took power in May, it has begun prosecuting five former governors and has won the conviction of one who had been previously charged.
Yar'Adua has made battling graft a top priority.
The governors of Nigeria's 36 states lose their immunity from prosecution when their terms end. Many have been suspected of raiding public coffers and hiding their ill-gotten gains outside the country while their constituents remain impoverished.
Under Nigeria's federal system, states receive much of the government's funds and are tasked with providing schools, health clinics and other basic services to their people. State budgets can reach beyond $1 billion per year, particularly in the southern oil region, where budgets are even higher and graft particularly rife.
Nigeria is Africa's largest oil exporter and the fifth-largest supplier of crude to the United States. But despite producing tens of billions of dollars of crude every year, few Nigerians have access to clean water or electricity.

@ Aisha & all, Lets not deceive ourself there is no wind of change blowing anywhere in nigeria; since the inception of YAR' ADUA govt; nothing has changed the things that his main actions are all part of the OBJ script. Case in point the reversal of fuel price and VAT, was all scripted by the cunning nigeria politicians to endear YAR' ADUA to the nigerian public if not why would god OBJ wait till the eve of his leaving to make such pronouncement. These Guys are just playing politics with us. YAR' ADUA is a product of an arrangement between OBJ and babangida to look after their own interest.
