Whether Fela was right in ignoring the oppression of blacks in South Africa is debatable.
But one thing is certain: he could have helped tremendously in releasing Mandela and
ending apartheid sooner than it did.

This is strong opinion.

Fela's songs is applicable to the Nigerian political solution, not anywhere else. Musicians and their songs did not free Mandela. Threat of political sanctions freed Mandela. Fela is creative in response to his environment. SA is not an environment he was familar with to create song for. Do not critique Fela unjustly.

Thats local to Nigeria. Why does he owe Mandela in SA a song?

U are still being ruled by the same gang, with the same tactics of sorrow, tears and blood, while S.A got freedom.
