megainvest: Any investors in the house? Please I need your professional advice on this. I wonder if there is any stockbroker that has an online trading system as strong as the online banking platforms we have today. I intend to do major business but I need a Very reliable stockbroker with great systems, swift response to instructions and high integrity & security. I used to have a portfolio with Cashcraft, i have to acknowledge that they where not doing badly, but i got introduced to another brokering house, Partnership Investment Company Plc. I left some of my stocks portfolio with cashcraft and moved some to partnership to give them a try. They are doing so wonderfully well, in fact i regret that i did not discover partnership earlier, i am making cool cash with them for beside the tradition stock broking services they render which is almost excellent, they have specially designed packages that pays you interest for your stocks in their possesion and also help manage people wealth. you can google them your self. cheers! |

Wonderful responses. I heard cashcraft had or currently has some problems. What are the details? Meritrade website is impressive. I wonder how good their response time is. |

feelamong: I have dealings in a so called big and a small house....na the same thing.. You may not be able to know or meet the person that does the trading in a house like IBTC, FBN Securities, UBA stockbrokers, Investment One, FSDH Securities etc, except your portfolio is in the hundreds of millions or billions of Naira, but they have customer service personnel that will assist you in the execution of your instruction. |

jaki006: MERISTEM Securities, they even have an online platform that allow u to trade directly www.meritrade.comReality is that it is pretty difficult to run stockbroking house without much capital thus the integrity issues many houses encounter as small one man business. Consequently, the good stockbroking houses would easily be found among the big firms like FBN, IBTC, UBA, BGL, etc. Unfortunately, they have no place for small investors with their min. account opening balance in the range of millions. From my research Meristem is good, their Meritrade package/platform accepts account opening with N50,000. It is 100% online: money deposit, buy and sell orders, viewing of stock position, equally fast and transparent enough. You can open account by yourself online by scanning and attaching required documents. Go to their website and call their toll free customers care line, and thank me for this Info. 2 Likes |

Guys nigeria is not matured enough to have very speedy discount brokers. Most of our brokers still go to the floor to execute other. Nigeria is not developing. Dont mind all these that ask u to go one broker and the other. U cant give what u dont have. |

From my research thus far, Meritrade by Meristem Securities seems to be exactly what I seek. I checked NSE website and found them amongst the list of top 10 brokers (by trade volume) alongside the big players like Stanbic IBTC. Others in the same category include Vetiva, cordros, Chapelhill Denham etc. I also gather that their online platform works pretty well and they are relatively fast plus you can open an account with just 50k. My summary is: Big player, smart operator, easy trading. I hope I am not disappointed when I eventually sign up. |

I have finally signed up with Meristem and I am very impressed. They execute orders on time and their response to mails is top quartile. There is still some room for improvement in terms of crediting your account. e.g. using quickteller etc. So far so good. |
