It was just another SA business trying to make money off Nigeria like MTN and DSTV(DSTV have great Nigerian content though and invest a lot in Nigerian entertainment and sport). It won't be missed.

Don't worry lack of originality will kill it. It's a matter of (short) time.

That site used to be my no.1 till i discovered nairaland..After nairaland,i pop in their to read the idris, suya, nkata ofo...The likes of Gadaffi in the past made it so interesting till it turned siasia vs keshi and then the nairaland disease affected it..tribal warriors.. grin grin..

Colin Udoh and crew contributed to its demise....they are always late to report news...it was forumites who made it interesting, contributing, sourcing and posting breaking news....

I,ll miss the guys there.

Re: Kickoffnigeria Closes Down by Reference(m): 6:58pm On Aug 14, 2014
Nigerians and backyard-junk-storage mentality. When you build something with so much value and promise and cannot carry it any further, just do the simple, sell.....at the peak of its value, in this case, popularity. In advanced societies that is what all web based enterprises do. They either sell to those who can advance it or float it to bring in those who can advance it. Nigerian based businesses must think beyond the I/me confines and view ideas as sacred, inspiration as trans-generational so that we can be unshackled from mediocrity.

Seun for one appears to have hit the right keys, why not partner, share the enterprise with him. Same sad story afflicted our once promising home grown rival to DSTV. They prefer to see it die than let it slip through their cold, dying hands.......pity.

Such a pity that we don't value what we have, now KickoffNigeria has run out of business when FourFourTwo continues to wax strong.

You don't buy a substandard goods all because the producer is your kin

If kickoff failed to upgrade their ventures like every other sensible sports site then I won't visit them

Its obvious, u are post 2010 football fan

safarigirl: But KON is popular, if they lack sponsors, they should change their PR man, not close it down. After NL, I visit that site a lot
I honestly do not believe their story. Lack sponsor? Even if they do not have sponsors, there are many advertising companies online even adsense or contextual ad companies such as media net will fetch them lots of money.
