what really makes the difference?
Why is the level of applications leavered on state medical school so low, when compared to fed. Schools?

Why is the teaching hospitals of state medical schools unpopular/under-rated when compared to the federal counter-parts?

Why are federal schools superior in the first place?

Will there be a problem during residency for state school medics?

Is it that they don't learn same thing?

Is it that the lab. Implements differs?

the standard/quality is the same.........but many will go for the name.

My experience so far, there is no doctor from federal or doctor from state university, all we have is good doctors and the bad ones. Any school accredited to train medical students definitely have what it takes to produce a Good doctor, be it federal university or state owned university

RESOURCES - Federal government has more resources at its disposal. All othef things being equal, this makes the Federal Instititions more efficient. More resources, more equipment, more pay for workers, more research, more most things.

HUMAN CAPITAL - Federal Teaching hospitals attract more great professors, consultants and lecturers than the state-owned. Reason? Refer to 1 above

History: UCH, UNTH, LUTH, ABUTH, OAUTH, UBTH. You cannot compare the influence the histories of these schools/hospitals have in attracting the best manpower and the best students across the country. More History, more prestige, more pressure to be among the best.
