These days I see English being murdered a lot on Nigerian blogs and forums cry

In my opinion, expressing yourself correctly in the workplace is part of being professional. Also, a CV or Cover letter riddled with lots of grammatical blunders would not be a plus or reflect well on you. The words below seem to be ones most commonly interchanged wrongly.

Been - Being
She is being so nice today.
I have been to Vegas. It's been a long time I saw you.

Thought - Taught
I thought you said you will come next week.
I was taught not to be rude to others. He taught English in the local uni

Leave - Live
I will leave you behind if you continue wasting my time.
I live in Lagos

Park - Pack
Park the car on the left.
I will pack my bags tomorrow.

Weather - Whether
The weather is bright and sunny.
It doesn't matter whether you take it or not

Order - Other
The order of programme will be distributed soon. In order for the show to go on, we need more drinks.
I have got other things to do this afternoon. In other words, you will not do the task.

Cause - Course
You are the cause of all this mess.
Of course, I will not do it. She is on course to graduate with a good grade.

Defer - Differ
I will defer my admission
I beg to differ, I do not agree with that.

Deem - Dim
The light is too dim, please make it brighter.
I deem it unnecessary.

Alter - Altar
Her dad walked her down the altar
I will alter the article before sending to you.

Grateful - Greatful
Truly - Truely

She is truly a gem
I am grateful for your help.
The words Greatful and Truely do not exist.

Grammer - Grammar
It is simply English grammar. Eod.
