Every thing that the ivorian have on is functional and while they might not have the training of the S.A.S or the Seals they got the functional kit down. Training is indeed good and it is indeed a major part of any Special Force, but if your SF are not properly kitted, if they don't have the proper food rations or the proper amount of ammo how are they going to survive. I have seen our soldiers in Nigeria fighting with flip flops, some of them wearing t-shirts with a vest on top. That is the height of negligence, there is nothing wrong with wearing different gear but there is a difference between different gear and no gear.

bro not all cases are negligence ,soldiers might wear flip flops around base but not during combat and as for the tee shirt ,the heat down here accounts for that .
on a ligther note forget how fancy these things are soldiers wont wear them except under strict instruction . however individual comfort determines.

from my observation they look better equiped than the turkish otokar cobra's only that the cobras are faster and ampibious(some).
think its high time proforces is funded with oil money

This is not true. Soldiers are humans like everyone else, they take photos and selfies of everyday life, like everyone else.

Not even american specials forces wear those fancy gear, we see, all the time.


You can see from the photos, U.S special forces in Afghanistan. Nothing fancy, no SPV, no tactical gear, Hilux vehicles. Nothing, WOW.

These are behind the line operations, operators dress-up as the foe and use gear (like those Toyotas) the foe uses so from a distance its hard to differentiate until it too late for the enemy.

Tactical gear goes with the mission at hand... if the mission is reconnaissance then the gear will be just that, if its combat the gear will be so... now I'm not sure if "comfort" is part of missions.

Yeah my point exactly, that's what I was trying to explain to that other dude, Heavy armour and a lot of tactical gear doesn't make an operator better than anyone else, All those pics he posted were just for Show, those guys probably don't even dress like that on actual deployments.

Royal marine commandos :mission afghanistan, I can't recall the episode. In this particular episode, commandos were defending their FOB wearing only boxers shorts and Bullet proof vests.

Exactly my point. Operators still miss targets even with all the add on's and accessories. I'm by no means saying accessories aren't important, however, if an Operator or any soldier doesn't practice regularly, he'll still miss his target even if it were only 10 meters away.

Everybody likes to see troops in fancy tactical gear, I know I love it a lot . It's always "sweeter" when they're Nigerians.

They're the same sukhois India downed many F-15s with,during some exercise years back.

Yeah Skills and good training are what makes an Operator really "look Cool", what I've noticed about the Seals or S.A.S is that those guys actual give up protection *heavy armour* for high-tec gadgets plus its much easier to shoot and move around when you've just got your battle jacket a helmet and good combat skills.

Well at first I didn't understand why india would be selling awesome planes like Su-30s until I did a bit or research and I found out that the reason they sold them is that the commanders had realised that they are now obsolete compared to modern standards, and that's why I also consider it to be obsolete in a way, thing is I know the Su-30 is an awesome plane I'm just tired of Seeing us Africans buy stuff from someone's garage sale, or from a second hand store.

With support they downed many USA F-15s in an exercise.

Also keep in mind that,these jets can be upgraded the fact that they didn't meet India's needs doesn't mean they're obsolete.

The only worrying factor is how they were kept in Russia.

I read that India didn't want another exercise because the Americans learned a way to counter these jets.

Last year Angola was even linked with a decommissioned Spanish aircraft carrier don't know if they are still interested.
