Every human being is prone to get ill at one time or the other..Being a pastor,revrend,bishop,deacon,evangelist or prophet doesn't make any immune to illnesses..
They get beaten by rain,they could catch cold or flu,
they eat all kinds of food,they could get stomach upset,
some even have unprotected sex,HIV is their risk.

The only thing is that they always admonish their ardent followers to shun ortodox care ,fold their arms and watch healing occour.While they go on vacation oversea and do a thorough medical check up and treatment..

Many especially faith-healers variety deem sickness a contradiction of their doctrine of Mountain-Moving-Faith + 'divine health' verses = disease-free bliss. Why would I be preaching healing while am on antibiotics and painkillers?

Rather than abandon their obviously flawed unbiblical stance, they live a lie. Now they are guilty of not just wrongly dividing the Word but also of deceit. So sad and comical

Jesus did not fall sick nor use herbs. I am sure His disciples did not visit clinic whether secretly or openly

The inescapable truth is that these men of guile(mog) are liars and pretenders who obtain by false pretence.

Imagine the level of cognitive dissonance that engulfs them and their followers after all the megatons of lengthy prayers, fastings, seed sowing, tithing, etc, then down the line, they are in hospital paying for expensive lifesaving medical treatments.

I do not know why you asked the question but I have heard for certain that a whole lot of known men of God died from secret sickness.

The lists could include the following:

1) I suppose they blindly believe in faith in a wrong way.
2) I suppose they do not want to be seen as not practicing what they preach.
3) I suppose God just didn't heal them so as to make people know that no pastor as the case may be is God.

If you are sick and you need help and the God you serve has given some people the knowledge to cure such sickness, isn't it common sense to seek the help of God in the knowledge he has given to humans (Doctors, Pharmacist, Medical Lab Scientists) and not just pray?

No, it is not a sign of weakness....and they are not supposed to fall sick but they are not immune to sicknesses either.
Of course, God doesn't want us sick.

They feel pain, hunger, thirst, sicknesses and other things humans feel...when they feel all these, their close ones know about it, not necessarily everyone.

But op, do you expect them to announce on TV and Radio stations when they are sick?

Do our national leaders (President, Governors and other elites) announce they are sick?
Has Dangote ever announced his sickness or have you ever known when he's sick?
Do you ever hear when the U.S president is sick?

Probably cos they misinterpret the part of the bible that says "strike the shepherd and the sheep would scatter". They proly have forgotten that they are human & have given themselves a larger than life image, forgetting that even the great apostle Paul was sick in the body yet he didnt pretend about it.

When public figures are sick, it is not always heard of, religious or not.
If the non religious ones are shielded, I believe the religious ones are most often, not shielded.


If you believe it is shielded, I can say it is not intentional. The sick one usually won't be the one to publicize, and if others do not, it is no one's fault.

The congregation is always aware when my local Pastor is sick...but he rarely is.

...and if you believe it should always be made public, you can take a step by getting to open a thread for every sick Pastor you find out about.

You make much sense until you realize that Christian leaders receive a lot of private information from their congregation by way of counseling,prayer request and testimonies unlike secular leaders. That they conveniently forget to reciprocate this is quite telling.

I suppose it's like bad 'omen' to just stand there and say, 'by His stripes am healed' but am flying out to India for a major surgery'. Imagine the benefit of honesty. The whole congregation praying with you. Now contrast that with a proud leader who won't admit to stubborn and probably life threatening sickness, and instead opts to fight it out alone

I don't purport to make laws on this subject but you know too well it ain't right pretending. And BTW,this extends to sin. I don't expect them to keep on confessing every time they fall but covering it up with a cloak of righteousness won't help. Ditto marital issues. Always cultivating a happily-married image when all you got is an empty shell. I recall listening to one American televangelist. She went on and on praising her hubby in public including sharing how wonderful their sex life was. The following weeks she was in the limelight for battery/domestic violence. Divorce quickly followed
