It also seems like those with a flair for engineering and who pursue don't pass through much stress before getting it.
I have a feeling that you think it's less challenging.... I should oppose that, but I don't have enough backup, so I won't. cool

That depends on what 'it' is. If 'it' stands for being admitted to study engineering, you're not too far from the truth. If 'it' is studying engineering, you're wide off the mark.

So, there aren't any in that category who were admitted on merit?

yeah, I'm not too far from your 'truth'..... in my opinion, getting 'it' is just as challenging.... the only diff is that the fear of advanced maths as significantly reduced the competition compared to biology... cause that's the subject that differentiates everything- for now

I don't think OAU is the only school where there is a struggle for medicine. The NMA gives a certain number of medical students that each school can admit in a year.I'm not sure other courses have a centrally governing body like that hence admission is based on the school's discretion.

Btw.......I think at certain times, Medicine is over-rated in Nigeria. tongue(quote and I shoot grin)

I noticed that most of us on this thread hav been seeking admission for long...so following the trend of timmy,when everybody is through with their testimony I wld suggest another topic which is:WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU DID DIFFERENTLY THIS YEAR THAT MADE YOU GOT ADMISSION??did you;

Read extensively unlike the previous years,

Listened to some advise from someone that eventually paid off,

Got closer to God

Ur connection was 10G lols....

Can you compare the number of unemployed/underemployed doctors to that of any profession in Nigeria? @timmytimmy

Lol, seems like Dr Chiamaka is ready to pounce on me.Well, I think you're very right,unfortunately like most doctors and to-be doctors, you misunderstood the statement I made . That statement is rather political........it has sooooooo many meanings but what I meant was that "the general thinking of an average Nigerian is that once you become a medical doctor,your financial, social and health problems are most likely over".

because they are most likely over... tell me one doctor you have seen walking under the scorching sun to submit his CV....
