they are on 7 points. If we beat Congo in our next match, we ll be level on point with them on 7 points. And we may overtake the with goal diff

CAF uses head to head, not goals difference

If we're to beat Congo on their turf, it's going to be just a slim margin.
Don't waste your time expecting any 2-goal margin.

If two teams are tied on the same points, qualification will be determined based on their home and away matches between the two teams in question

Angola qualified ahead of Nigeria for the 2006 world cup cos of this rule. We finished on the same number of points and we had a far superior goals difference than they had. Angola qualified cos they defeated Nigeria 1-0 in Luanda, while we drew 1-1 with them here in Kano.

We have no option.

Actually, SA @ home is the last qualifying match. We should have an idea of what we need to do by then.

true oh, but mathematically speaking you and I can win 10 million GBP if we play the lottery ... the reality is probably something different.
I personally don't think the Eagles can win their last two games.
Both SA and Congo may even be parking the bus and playing for draws

Congratulations to Nigerians, the Super Eagles, Coach Keshi and his crew.

That was an amazing Memorable game Coach Keshi gives us.

Aluko, Aluko, Aluko. His addition was a master stroke by Coach Keshi and he unlocked the midfield with Super Play.

Mikel, never disappoints. He was dynamic today and his pass to Musa for the first goal was up there with the best. When Oshaniwa lost the ball in the midfield when we were ahead by one goal, Mikel's foul was brilliant and needed.

Raheem Lawal put in a good show. Oshaniwa was dynamic. The only problem he had was miscommunication with some players. Our players should watch Oshaniwa's runs. Give him room to overlap before passing the ball.

Aaron Samuel was dynamic and had the bite of a great striker.

Musa, keeps proving he is a striker and not a winger.

Onazi who I have been critical on performed well in a role different from his regular role. Onazi on the right was another brilliant masterpiece. I wonder if Ambrose would be given the box to box role.

OMERUO was super today. He won almost all the aerial balls. He took the fight to the strikers of Sudan. Nice game from Oboabona and Akpan.

Osaguona came in and in a few minutes, showed how brilliant he is.

Wishing you guys the best,

Emenike worked hard and delivered the cross that led to Aaron Samuel's goal. There was a time he was selfish with the ball and wasted a scoring opportunity after making a spectacular run with the ball.

I hope his team mates do not hold it against Emenike. His goal drought must be bothering him.

I even thought you ll give indepth info. We can still qualify as best losers. CAF ll choose 3 best losers along side the 12 teams that came 1st & 2nd in their groups. If you add 1 team (host nation) to this, you ll v 16 teams.
So, the surest way of Nigeria's qualification is through best loser.
Last Bullet

A Note To Steven Keshi
________________

Nigeria 3-1 Sudan
________________
A win is fine.
It gave a relief & a hope of qualifying for the next AFCON at least as a best loser.
But...
The same old story has not ended.

* Playing players out of position (e.g Onazi played as a right back against Sudan)
* Not parading the raw talents but fielding less skillful muscular rugby footballers (e.g Gbolahan Salami)
* Lack of dead ball specialists & other tactical deficiency that a team like Nigeria should not have.
#Keshimustchangehisapproach
I have been saying it since that one of the reasons why the Super Eagles form had dropped was the way Onazi plays. He wants to be part of the attacking game. That is not the role of a defensive midfielder.

The right back role suited him because his overlapping suits that role and would not have a devastating effect on the team.

When Gbolahan Salami came in, he showed good movement and play. So I do not know why you are criticising that choice.

As for dead ball, Sone Aluko gave a fantastic cross that was deadly. Let is hope Sone Aluko continues developing into the squad.

Very insightful and intelligent post. Anyone who believes Keshi is technically sound does not know anything about football coaching.
I thought people like you saw a tactical masterpiece today. Did you see the change he made and brought in Sone Aluko?

That sub changed the dynamic of the game.

Why not talk about how brilliant the coach was to sight a promising talent at China.

How many of your tactical masterminds would take a risk and play a player like Aaron Samuel in a crucial game like this and the boy delivered.

That shows genius. Coach Keshi and his crew are promising. We should praise them when they do well. I am expecting even better performances from them.
