"General Yakubu "Jack" Dan-Yumma Gowon (born 19 October 1934) was the head of state (Head of the Federal Military Government) of Nigeria from 1966 to 1975. He took power after one military coup d'état and was overthrown in another. During his rule, the Nigerian government successfully prevented Biafran secession during the 1967–70 Nigerian Civil War."

How he was the youngest ever Nigerian Head of State at 32 years - and how he was overthrown when he went visiting Uganda for Idi Amin's birthday or so (or was that Buhari?). Also, third trivia: he is the longest serving Nigerian Head of State (he served 9 years.). A man of history no doubt; and one of the most likable past presidents in my personal opinion.

obasanjo is nigeria longest serving head of state(almost 12 years as head of state) and gadaffi was the youngest head of state in africa when he took over libya
