Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, of spending N50m on beds in his and his wife’s bedrooms in the newly built Ekiti State Government House.

He claimed in a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday that what was spent on the two bedrooms, their toilets and bathrooms was in the region of N100m.

The statement titled “N3.3bn new Government House Is Fayemi’s Show of Wickedness To Ekiti People,” was signed by his Special Assistant on Information and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka.

But Fayemi, through his media aide, Olayinka Oyebode, said the allegation was more about The Comedy of Errors. He advised Fayose to stop the theatre of absurd. The statement by Olayinka described the new government house as an act of insensitivity to the plight of Ekiti people, many of whom, could not afford to feed once in a day.

According to the statement, no progressive-minded Ekiti person would see the “out-of-this-world luxury” provided with over N3.3bn borrowed funds for Fayemi, his wife and children and will not weep for the state and its people. It claimed that the bed on which Fayemi slept before he left government was N30m while that of his wife was over N20m.

Abi Oooo......D guy is jus a noise maker, although I dnt support wastefulness, is he saying each bed cost btw 25-30M each? Although gullible ppl will believe sha. Anywaz atleast Fayemi spent d money & we cn see wat he spent it on irrespective of d cost, abeg help me ask fayose abt d N1.2bn spent on his invisible poultry project...Yeyenatu

Good thing Fayemi got nabbed for this stupid exuberant display of our commonwealth. But then, he did have something to show for the 4yr term he spent. I hope someone can point to a reminiscent effect of Fayose's 1st term. Nothing! Sadly!

If i were him, i would rather set up a panel of inquiry and handover the details to EFCC to pursue to a logical closure rather than make a TV series off this.

This is a second chance to rebrand himself and the PDP. He could be the reason to change the political dynamics of SW. The clock ticks!

Those beds am looking at are not worth up to 5million naira combined.

Abi....although dey cud b expensive but I doubt d price too. Anywa wat do I expect frm sm1 dat claimed d state's debt profile ws N84bn on wednesday & d next day (thursday) on his inauguration later put it at 57bn. My dear Gov pls settle down & face more impt issues facing d state. We still hv a long way to go. God bless
