Thank God it's Friday! Because we are passionate about your productivity and success, here are CV crafting tips for you.

Be sure not to

1. Get too personal
If the job description did not request you to put some personal information such as your birth details, photograph, religion, sexual orientation and political affiliation.

2. Include spelling errors and poor grammar
Around 50% of CVs that are received by recruiters contain spelling or grammatical errors. Do not let the recruiter read “Dear Sir or Madman”. It is good to have a friend to proofread your resume before you send it out.

3. Add irrelevant work experience
Read the job description of the post you are applying for so you include only important work experience that will let your CV stand out and yet fit the position you want.

4. Show off hobbies or oddities
76% of CVs are ignored by recruiters if the email address was unprofessional. Avoid using such email addresses such as sexybabe4luv@yahoo.com etc. Your future employers are not interested if you have ten different hobbies either.

5. Be negative
It is important to use positive language in your CV. Replace negative phrases with positive ones.

It is not important to include hobbies. But if you have to, that section should be labelled 'Interests' and not 'Hobbies.'

Nice work OP
Am a bit confused on submitting CV's via email, what should I write on the email before telling them to "please find attaché". Should I scan and send it like that or a short intro first.

Secondly
What if I have no job experience relevant to the job description, what should one do?

Thank you for your comments.
Firstly,it is assumed that it is in applying for a job position that you are sending the mail containing your CV. Some companies would tell you what they require you to address your mail as,simply build on that in one paragraph in the mail you intend to send.

It is definitely not advisable to just scan your CV. In fact, refrain from scanning your CV. It should always be in the form of an attachment (either in MSWord or PDF formats) to better preserve the structure and contents therein.

Secondly,if you have no job experience relevant to the job position being applied for,you should try to get either a volunteer or internship experience relevant to the position. It is important to show to the potential employer that you are familiar in some way with what is required to get the job done.

I hope this helps. #Insidify

Yes,your 'fullname@yahoo.com' is the most professional email you can use in applying for a job, sending your CV,or just generally doing anything official. We all have those funny email addresses such as sexybabe4luv@yahoo.com etc that was the in-thing way back. Please ensure you are not caught using those for anything official.

Hope you are no longer confused. smiley

Your cv really need someone to preview it for you cause you are still using 'as' for 'has'.
