Unfortunately by law there is nothing like "completing" someones tenure. The constitution and the SC ruling on Haruna Vs INEC and the SC ruling that sacked 5 Govs in 2012.
1. The ticket is a joint ticket, and both the candidate and running-mate are a team not separated.
2. The tenure if 4 years for every term. Yaradua/Jonathan won the 2007-2011 term as join. Jonathan only succeeded his boss who he won the ticket with.
3. By law, a person canNOT spend more than 8years as a substantive President but can spend less (SC ruling on the 5 Govs in 2012).
4. Jonathan took his first oath of office as the substantive President in May 2010 for his first tenure(According to SC ruling on Boni Haruna) and another in 2011 for his 2nd Term. Taking a 3rd will represent an unconstitutional 3rd term in office.
5. Should Jonathan win 2019, it wÍll mean thÀt he will spend more Þhan 8Ýrs in office which is unconstitutional(SC ruling of 2007 and 2012)
6. It is a big legal hurdle for Mr. Jonathan.


My Verdict:
He is not qualified to run! But I leave it to learned Judges

According to what I read/was told by my Uncle [cus I was not that matured politically then], Boni Haruna was Atiku's running mate during the 1999 Guber. polls in Adamawa. And Atiku had already won the election when OBJ asked him to be his running mate. So, Boni Haruna being his running mate was called upon to take over from him. Note that he [Atiku] had neither been sworn-in nor taken an oath of office. It can also be said that Boni Haruna governed Adamawa for the stipulated period of 4yrs, while GEJ only completed the remaining 2yrs of Yaradua.

All I want y'all to know is that whether the court declares him not qualified to contest, or he's allowed to contest, GMB, the People's General will be sworn in as the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We should concentrate on how we're going to send GEJ packing and deliberate on the prison he's gonna spend the rest of his life in!

We all know that Nigeria is a lawless country. Not that we don't have constitution, but our judicial system is our problem. All we need do it to commence massive mobilisation for GMB.
Most youth in my area are born under 80s so they never understand the REAL BUHARI, I have really worked on their mindsets with convincing analysis why they must vote Jonathan out 2015.
Please, the campaign has started, mental orientation is needed right now. Don't be shy away from discussing politics at your area, office, school etc. Point out reasons why gej is a failure because majority of electorates are ignorant. GMB erroneous accusation on Bokoharam has got them blindfolded.

Before the SWEARING IN ceremony, Atiku Abubakar withdrew from the governorship joint ticket to become the running mate to Obasanjo. Atiku was never a governor of Adamawa state, Boni Haruna was. He was inaugurated on 29th of may 1999 and completed a constitutional 8 years on May 29, 2007.

You should be advising PDP to be gathering their legal team, because insisting Jonathan is qualified to contest, and fielding him as their candidate could boomerang. What happens if after his name has been submitted to INEC as the PDP candidate, and the date for substitution of candidates' names elapses?
