A federal high court sitting in the federal capital territory, Abuja, on Monday ruled that Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal is and remains the Speaker of the House of Representatives, hence the status quo with regards to his official position as Number 4 citizen should be maintained by all parties.

The judge also ordered that the House of Reps shall not reconvene until the 3rd December date that has been approved by Speaker Tambuwal. The court warned all those planning to re-open the House from the back door before the date approved by Tambuwal not to even contemplate such action.

Consequently, the hearing of the substantive suit shall commence on Friday in Abuja.

I guess, with this ruling, everyone will sheath their swords ti December 3rd when the already drawn battle line would explode!

But does it mean that the constitution guiding the qualifications of the speaker is so twisted that those calling for his removal can't decipher? PDP,saTAN & presidency rubbing themselves in the mud since god knows when on matters relating to opposition. The ability of the president of any given nation to rule desirably is not always dependent on his academic profile.

I belong to neither side of the divide but I just see this as victory for DEMOCRACY and its founders as well as its true adherents.

As it stands now, the court has asked all parties concerned to maintain status quo (not ante not pro bono). Meaning, things remain the way the are currently.
As it is, that mallam is not a member of the house, hence no accolades to him. At least till Nov 7.
Only that the PDP caucus cannot reconvene tomorrow as planned.
The judiciary had better interprete section 68 (1)(g) already and let those 38 lawmakers find their way home.
