Most cars have a knock sensor, which tells the computer to back off on the timing. However, the knock sensor is either on or off; there's no third position to instruct the computer to crank it up. It won't hurt to try a tankful of higher grade than minimum to see if anything good happens, but nothing, of course, is guaranteed. |
