I'll always love a big family, all things been equal i'll advise people to have big families, but there is always a consideration of the reality on ground and grave reasons which makes such ideas unreachable, this is where the couples come in and this is where pope st John paul 2 talks about "responsible parenthood". These considerations are principally for the couples, nobody without good reason should pontificate in this issue.

What about the use of contraceptives? If it is possible, would you support a move by the present Pope to sanction its use?

no sir i won't support such a move as it would be a contradiction of the principles espoused in christian tradition on marriage and that of the previous magisterium. Infact if i were an adviser to such a pope, i would advise he considers using the option to resign.
