Opinion - I Had A Dream by makizee(op): 7:35am On Nov 06, 2014
…So I woke up this morning, feeling quite in the mood for some of my musings to be put into words, and yes, I had a dream, as a matter of fact, I have had this dream for a long while now, and the dream is to see the end of the PDP in our national polity, For 16 years, the PDP cancer has ravaged Nigeria and Nigerians, it is time to put a stop to it, and no other time is there an opening as glaring and wide as we have presently because right now, the PDP has decided to put up their worst and most ineffective candidate forward for re-election, Just imagine another four years of the Jonathan Presidency, I shudder at the thought.
Even if not for anything else but for the development of our democracy, we need this change, it cannot be a fact that the generality of Nigerians approve of the way the country has been governed for the past 16 years, the beauty of democracy is that power truly belongs to the people, ironically the slogan of the PDP but under their watch, can we really say power has been with the people, instead the Jonathan led government has harassed and abused the right and privileges the people should enjoy and abrogated to themselves all the civil, military and political power to intimidate and harass the population, They keep on reeling out economic indices that shows that the economy is now the largest in Africa and fastest growing but the reality on ground is an angry army of swelling unemployed and under employed youths, a dilapidating infrastructure, insecurity everywhere, the sovereignty of the Nation is under threat by a rag tag criminally insane group of terrorist that continue to kill and sack entire towns, now in control of several others all under the watch of this administration and yet some people still want us to continue with him , for four more years not forgetting that he has been in the saddle for the almost six years already since the passing of former President Yar adua, so tell me, is it what he and his party has been unable to achieve in six years that would magically come to fruition in the next four, Haba, these people must either believe Nigerians are a bunch of fools or we really are fools, We are not !
I do not see in all calculations how this President can win the 2015 presidential election though, (and he better not attempt to undermine the credibility of the elections, the outcome would be bad for us all) I foresee a shellacking for him and his party, going by the pattern of the 2011 elections and his incompetence (yes I said it) his disdain for the rule of Law, insane levels of corruption or is it stealing now, pervading insecurity, there couldn’t have been a better time for Nigerians to show truly who is the boss, The new party that would take over would have no choice but to respect Nigerians when they take over, Nigerians would really be the true winners when this incompetent administration is finally kicked to the curbs.

To vote PDP out is not a problem but who is APC want to use is a question here. Not the party but the candidate. APC should use somebody like Konkoso, okoroch, Fashola, Tamibua. we dont want Atiku or Buhari.

The actualization of your dreams depends on the maturity and intelligence of Nigerians,,,,Nigerians are too sentimental to look beyond tribe and religion and our stupidity makes sure we elect people who give us rice has incentives to vote them into power......Waiting for the result of the 2015 election to know if Nigeria is a lost cause or not
